We've just arrived back from a 2 night stay in no.19 suite in the Cawdor. We've stayed in hotels all over the world and I can honestly say the bedroom we had exceeded many we have stayed in previously. You must go inside the building to appreciate it. The rooms have fantastic bathrooms and big beds. Don't expect A/C, as the building is very old, but the windows do open. That much vaunted refurbishment of 2005 brought this old hotel right into 1973. With the exception of the modern shower and the energy efficient lightbulbs with their attendent dimness everything was very basic. I stayed at this hotel 18 months or so ago and enjoyed the stay. Tried to stay again on some 2 occasions. Each time they couldn't take the booking........computer problems .......busy in the bar - always a reason to ask ME to call back. The Cawdor is a lovely boutique hotel in the centre of Llandeilo. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the bedroom was luxurious with a four poster bed and the best shower ever! Would recommend this hotel for a speical weekend or getaway. more
