“Making Memories” for life with the whole family in this wonderful place. Just back from a fantastic weekend at Downhill Beach House. The Hosts were quick to return emails leading up to the trip giving me all the information I needed and McCall met us on arrival for a tour of the house and answered any questions. We arrived on the Friday evening and cars did not move again to Sunday afternoon- everything we needed was on hand. The House is perfect for large family gatherings, with kids (we had 11) in the large attic bedrooms leaving 5 other bedrooms for the grown ups, all en-suite and very comfortable. The house was warm and homely with a newly refurbished kitchen, 2 large ovens, 6 ring hob, 3 fridges plus a fridge freezer and a family size dish washer - perfect when your cooking dinner for 21 hungry people. The location WOW - coming from Northern Ireland we sometimes take the beautiful scenery for granted, but it was lovely to slow down and enjoy what was literally on our doorstop - beautiful. Thank you McCall for all your help, Our Family had a fantastic weekend and we would definitely recommend for anyone else wanting to make memories for a lifetime💕

We rented out the entire house for 7 days to accommodate 21 friends and family members for our early September wedding. We had planned on having our ceremony on the beach but the weather encouraged us to change venues and we moved the event indoors. The house proved to be a beautiful location in and of itself. It was able to accommodate catering, a photographer, a harpist, and all of our guests and festivities with ease. The other 6 days we enjoyed trips to local sights and spent time on the beautiful beach out front. The living room doubled perfectly as a playroom for the few toddlers in our party. We could not recommend it enough.

One word.....FANTASTIC! 22 people (11 adults,11 children) and it suited us to a tea! Got a friendly welcome from the owner who gave us a rundown of any essential info we needed. The beach (which is gorgeous) was right on our doorstep although there is great space at the front garden to relax and hang out. We had great weather which was a bonus! Thank you McCall for a wonderful weekend Our family, especially my dad the birthday boy, had a really enjoyable time. Would highly recommend!

We hired Downhill with family and friends for my husband’s birthday and had an amazing time. The house is superb for this type of gathering and the setting is absolutely breathtaking. The house is so well equipped especially from a catering perspective and the owners are warm and very helpful. We loved every moment and have many precious memories from a very fun weekend.

Spent my birthday here last weekend ( 30 of us in total and we rented the entire house - 20 adults, three teenagers and seven children). This place is absolutely amazing and perfect for a special celebration. The facilities are excellent for large groups and at no point did we feel on top of one another. Owners were really accommodating - we hired a bouncy castle, had a fish & chip van on the Friday night and brought caterers in to do a special meal on the Saturday - nothing was a problem - we had live music indoors and lit a fire pit (brought with us) outside to toast marshmallows. The setting is absolutely stunning and the views of the beach from upstairs are breath taking. The place itself is about a 15/20 minute drive from Portrush so we took the kids to Barry's on the Saturday afternoon and were back in time to enjoy some late afternoon drinks at the picnic tables dotted about the garden. I honestly couldn't find a fault and would highly recommend Downhill Beach House to anyone planning a family event - reasonably priced too! Hoping to make it an annual family event now!

19 members of our family have just spent a really enjoyable weekend in this fantastic house for my father's 80th birthday. We were a mix of couples, singles and mixed sex teenagers. There were enough rooms for each couple to have their own room. My parents had the ensuite room on the first floor, but there was another bunk bed room on the ground floor with a disability friendly ensuite available. We assigned an upstairs bunks room each for the boys and girls and there were still rooms for the single adults who preferred not to share. We thought the beds were really comfy! The showers had plenty of hot water with good pressure. The views at the front over the beach were stunning. (Tip -in a couple of the rooms you can clearly hear the little river so don't put light sleepers in there!) We brought our food with us, and there are a couple of shops a short drive away for anything you might have forgotten. The kitchen is well stocked with all the crockery, glasses, cutlery, containers and pans you would need. There are 2 fridges and some freezer space too. We were given free rein to rearrange the dining room as we preferred - and there was a comfortable living room with bricketts on the fire ,well stocked with books and games The owners McCall and Will were really attentive to all our needs and were lovely to deal with. The location is what makes this place stand out. Right on the most fabulous beach. What more could you want! Sent from my Samsung device

Stayed here for a couple of nights with my son while visiting Portrush. The location on a long stretch of beach is fabulous and is really just a shorty drive from Coleraine. The welcome is very friendly. The house has a great variety of rooms. The facilities for cooking, washing and just relaxing are great. Highly recommended.

Really nice place with excellent hospitality. We booked a room with 4 beds (2 x bunk beds) which had en-suite facilities. Everything nice and clean Separate sitting room to chill out and a nice kitchen to cook/prepare your own meals.. We only stayed one night and didn't venture out in the immediate area around the accommodation but all look nice.
