Stayed over the bank holiday , staff very friendly and helpfull , loved the 24 hour bar . Our room was a little shabby but did not really bother us , the room was extremely hot and we did have to open the window , so it was a little noisy . Thought the breakfast was a little over priced... More

Thank you for your lovely review! I am delighted you enjoyed your stay and am especially pleased you found the staff very friendly and helpful. This is something we pride ourselves on – the rooms are a little tired and in need of redecoration but there is no excuse for poor customer service. I am also delighted you had the... More

Last minute room booking Bank Holiday weekend and 6 other hotels I tried fully booked. That should have been my warning plus it was cheap. Room 238, single room, was good size and shower and bed adequate then it goes downhill. Carpet threadbare, TV not working and no instructions, no coathangers whatsoever in wardrobe (that's a first for me!), fan... More

Thank you for leaving a review following your recent stay. Room 238 is one of our standard single rooms. It is a good size and is nice and quiet as it is away from any traffic noise. It is awaiting refurbishment, but all the usual facilities are present and they do work. Like most hotels, we do not provide instructions... More

The hotel was well placed in the centre of town but also with a dual carriageway running under the window so you couldn't let any air in because of the noise from the traffic and the trains pulling in and out of the station. The room was in desperate need of a refurbishment, the walls and paintwork were scraped and... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of the Chesterfield Hotel following your recent stay. Your room was one of the older ones which is awaiting refurbishment. We were in room 242 for 2 nights and never have we known a room so hot. In the bathroom, even the our toothpaste was unpleasantly warm in the tube. How is anyone supposed to sleep in that heat. When we mentioned it at reception, the only response was that they cannot do anything as it is caused by the... More

Thank you for taking the trouble to leave a review following your recent stay at the Chesterfield Hotel. I am sorry you found your room to be so hot. Room 242 does have hot water pipes under the floor, which gives the room a lovely, cosy feel in winter. During your stay, the weather turned warmer and we turned off... More

having read other reviews it seems the hotel is undertaking a refurb of the hotel so if you are thinking about booking this hotel then give them a call and ask if they have any rooms that have been refurbished. The location and free parking are the positives and the reason we booked the hotel - I wasn't expecting anything... More

Thank you for your kind review following your recent stay. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and commended both the staff and the location.
