5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2013 NEW

My partner and I stayed for three nights at the Castle Hill Farm House in June, and we thought it was an excellent B&B. We were made to feel very welcome, and were well looked after throughout our stay. The breakfasts each morning were a great start to the day, and the offer of tea and cake when we returned... More

I have to agree wholeheartedly with the other reviewers. This B&B is a jewel. The cottage is a picturesque, grade II listed building. The guest and bathrooms are top-notch, modern and super clean. We loved the breakfast (!) which exceeded expectations. You can tell that the landlady goes the extra-mile in quality of food and preparation. A wide variety of... More

We booked this B&B last year due to us attending a wedding with in the area at Hassop Hall The bed rooms are immaculate,Very comfortable bed, white sheets and towels, We had Bedroom 1 with the shower room, Bedroom 2 has a Bath. It would have been better with bath robes due to the bathrooms a bit away down a small... More

My husband-to-be and I spent a few days in Bakewell at this fantastic B&B. Christine is an immaculate host; she takes the time to add extra, unexpected touches to your stay that really make it special. The breakfast is HUGE and really tasty and, as many have commented, the scones were a delicious surprise. The room (one of two) was... More

Really welcoming, spotlessly clean, lovely cosy room, UNBELIEVABLY huge and fabulous breakfast (fuelled me on a 5 hour walk- and I still wasn't hungry at dinner time)! Christine is helpful, welcoming, a really delightful and generous hostess- we would definitely return.

We'd booked for a long weekend, and arrived late on the Saturday after a long walk, during which we'd failed to find anywhere to have tea and cakes. To be offered teas and scones by Christine as we arrived was unexpected, but just what we needed. And they were lovely too. Our rooms were comfortable and very clean, and well... More

We took "pot luck" when we chose this B & B from an internet search. We didn't consult TripAdvisor before our stay. We were warmly welcomed by Christine and felt immediately at home. Our room was immaculate, the bed wonderfully comfortable and the view over the river and fields was tranquil. As previous reviews, the breakfast was lovely and hearty,... More

I totally agree and everyone should completely disregard the ridiculous 'terrible' review below! It was an absolute pleasure to stay at this B&B and meet Christine. The cottage is beautiful, clean and every thought has gone into making your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was amazing and plentiful. The number of returning guests and 5 star reviews speaks... More

To begin with, the review below should be completely ignored, as this person did not stay here or even visit the property-- obviously there was just some confusion on the phone because you probably sounded like a telemarketer! From our experience (and judging by every other review on this site and in the guest book at Castle Hill farmhouse!), this... More

I just called this place and asked the lady on the phone how she was. She hung up the phone. I called back and said that I had just called but that she hung up. She said "People in England don't ask how you are if you don't know them". I think this is very wrong, I have lived here... More

The review was written by a lady who did not stay with us. The review was written as a consequence of mistaken identity during a very brief telephone conversation. We believed the call was a telesales call due to the opening address of "Hello and how are you today?" followed by silence. On receipt of the second call we expained... More
