I booked The Haven for a weekend in Bakewell for my girlfriend and I. As soon as we arrived, Jeremy and Barbara made us feel extremely welcome. The rooms are cosy, clean and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious, perfectly cooked, quality English breakfast (with optional cereal to start), very good coffee, and Jeremy & Barbara maintained a hearty, banterous conversation,... more

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Haven. Jeremy and his wife made us feel most welcome. He booked tables at really good restaurants for us. The breakfasts were very good and certainly set us up for the day. We would not hesitate to book again and recommend it to all our friends. more

We decided to stay at The Haven on our trip to the Peak District, based on the amazing reviews it received on Tripadvisor. Overall, we were slightly disappointed with the place, but there were some very good aspects to The Haven as well. Jeremy and Barbara are lovely hosts, and went out of their way to help us. They were... more

Thank you for your review. The damp patch in the room is now rectified. This was a troublesome recurring issue for us and did take some time to resolve but is now sorted. We are very sorry if it affected your enjoyment at The Haven. We are constantly looking to improve and maintain the house and sometimes there are delays...

Stayed for four days, loved every minute. Conveniently situated, only 5 minute walk from Bakewell for shops, pubs and food. Host is extremely knowledgeable about the area, especially various walks. Would definitely stay at The Haven again. more

Very well placed for Bakewell and the surrounding area. The host was both charming, helpful and knowledgeable about the difficulty and nature of any walks, and was able to make suggestions and comments about suitability for each of his clients. His hospitality was brilliant, and we will certainly stay at The Haven next time we are in Bakewell. more

The Haven couldn't be more appropriately named as it is a slice of heaven. This B&B is our home when we travel to England from the States and it is made so by hosts Barbara and Jerry Armstrong. Although we don't get to see enough of Barbara because of her job in Leek, Jerry goes out of his way to... more

My wife and two teenage children stayed here in late Aug 2009. The Haven is spotlessly clean and well-run. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious and wonderfully clean. The breakfast is generous. The location is ideal - just out of the centre of Bakewell, just a minute's walk to get a newspaper or to walk into the centre... more

I stayed here, with my daughter, for a 3 night break. We found that the breakfasts were very good and the beds were superb. A little dated in the decoration dept. and my bathroom was miniscule, although my Daughters was much larger. I found the traffic noise, until midnight, was prohibitive so the windows had to be closed until then.... more

As soon as we arrived Jeremy moved his car on the street to give us a parking spot. We parked here all 5 nights of our stay. The room was great and cozy. We had the front bedroom overlooking the park, which was very interesting. The location is great...within walking distance of town and Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. Breakfast was... more
