The moment we turned off the car engine on arrival at Underleigh House, Philip Taylor emerged from the house to greet us and offer us tea and cake in the lounge, where we met the majority of the other guests (we had managed to book the last bedroom available that night). We all chatted about where we were going to... more

We have been staying at Underleigh for nine years now. We go at the same time every year & our experience is always wonderful. We began when the property belonged to the Singletons, Barbara & Tony, and thought then it was a fabulous find.We were a little worried when they retired & sold up to Philip & Vivienne; would it,... more

We really can't add more to what has already been submitted in other reviews so we will keep it brief. Suffice to say that we look forward to returning for a further two nights stay at this superlative B & B. One further thought: we live only an hour away from Underleigh House and when, having walked up it, we... more

Cannot praise this wonderful B&B enough, all of the previous reviews without repeating them were spot on.Both Philip and Vivienne cannot do enough for you and both work very hard to make this in my opinion one of the best . As in my other reviews I like to comment on one of the most important factors of anywhere I stay... more

I can't imagine a more perfect place to stay than Underleigh House. Philip and Vivienne go out of their way to make each guest's stay absolutely delightful, even collecting me from the train station at 9pm on a Friday evening and then going back 2 hours later to fetch my boyfriend who had missed his connection. Furthermore, Vivienne gave us... more

If you started from a blank sheet of paper and designed the perfect B&B you would end up with Underleigh House My wife and I have now stayed here 3 times, the last of which was in May this year with my Parents for my Mother's 70th Birthday. It has been a delight every single time and we will be... more

We stayed at Underleigh House during our tour of the English countryside. It is definitely off the beaten path for the typical American, but it is an amazing place. Set under the road, boardering a sheep filled pasture and the Derbyshire Peaks, as well as boasting a garden like that of Eden, Underleigh House is truly a slice of paradise.... more

Philip picked me up from the rail station. Vivienne gave me a filter coffee and some lemon drizzle cake immediately upon my arrival. For the next 48 hours, it seems that they did little else except anticipate and cater to every whim of every guest. My room was wonderful, with an uninterrupted view of Win Hill, a television and DVD... more

This is by far the best accomodation I have ever stayed in and was worth every penny. The owners offered to kindly pick us up at the station which helped tremendously as none of us in the group drove. Upon arrival they let us settle in first and then laid on complimentary drinks in the lounge. The owner Philip kindly... more

This six room B&B is, to all intents, as luxurious as a nice country hotel, with good sized nicely decorated en-suite bedrooms. What sets it apart, though, is the friendly, attentive and very personal service by Philip and Vivien, the owners. They really couldn't do more to help you: they were welcoming when we arrived late, still put on "the... more
