We stayed on the midweek deal. We had always wanted to visit the Peak District in general and Chatsworth in particular. Originally going to Paris but easyJet cancelled our flights, so we came to the Peacock instead. Wonderful place, wonderful staff, wonderful food. Who on earth could eat a cooked breakfast after dinner the evening before!? We thought the food... more

What a wonderful place! I would recommend rooms on the top floor, as we slept in until 10am, without hearing any noise at all from other rooms, the bar, restaurant or hotel. Comfortable room, beautiful walking country, best meal we've ever eaten, fantastic breakfast in bed - what more could we ask for? (except perhaps another weekend at the Peacock!) more

Excellent hotel delivering excellence in all quarters but at a price. Location, location & service; if your willing to pay far the best then this is the hotel for you, and if you a keen walker of the fell then you'll be in heaven. The service is extermely attentive, the food extremely fusy, the rooms extremely nice, but if you... more

We called last minute and we were lucky to get a Saturday 1 night stay. I am no fan of the compulsory 2 night stays at weekends especially if you don't want to spend too much. money. They only had room 9 left for 255 GBP with dinner. That price did not seem too bad and I had wanted to... more

They say you get what you pay for and this is the case here. Yes it's not cheap, but it is good. there is a family pub just across the bridge and a camp site if you want to do things that way, and that's fine. We came here for my 30th (my fiancee's treat) and enjoyed a walk through... more

Booked this trip from a specialist boutique hotel website and this is definitely not my definition of boutique. It is a small country house hotel - decorated very traditionally both in public areas and in the rooms. The hotel insists on a 2 night booking over a weekend but bumps the room rate up to £195 per night so we... more

My husband and I grabbed a last minute stay at the end of July to celebrate his birthday. We wanted child-free, luxury and good food and it needed to be close in the Peak District for a good walk the next day. From the moment of booking on the phone I was confident that this was the right choice for... more

Just returned from a fantastic weekend away. Everything from start to finish was perfection, service food etc. So many smiling faces instantly makes this one of the most welcoming hotels we have ever visited. We are already re booked to go back in December. Big thanks to Jenni and her team. more

My wife and I have just spent a weekend at The Peacock at Rowsley. What a great place! Having had the usual road chaos to deal with on a Friday rush hour, and the A11 to get out of Norfolk, we were delighted when we arrived at The Peacock to find our room was bright, airy, tastefully furnished and above... more

My wife and myself made a reservation for Sunday lunch 1.30pm14th June, we were not happy on our previous visit early 2008, but we hoped it may have improved ....arriving at 12.10pm, at 1pm no one else had entered the bar or taken a seat in the restaurant it was like the Marie Celeste........It is a restaurant we have used... more
