We have just returned from a two night break here. The staff were so friendly -nothing was too much trouble, the breakfasts and our one evening meal were excellent. The rooms have recently been re-furbished and were nice. Our only complaint is they were a bit dark. All in all worth a visit if staying in Ripon. more

Lovely clean hotel, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, good location to Cathedral and Market Square. We ate out so no comments on restuarant but it looked nice. The room wasnt ready on arrival and when it was, it was dirty so we had to request it be cleaned and even then the bins weren't emptied and empty shower gel bottles replaced etc. Location was good and we were impressed with the breakfast. Shame about the cleanliness because otherwise would have been an enjoyable stay. more

All rooms appear to be on the third floor, this wasn't a problem for us but it could be for the not so fit. No offer was made to help with bags. The room was quite small but clean. I spent three days in the Royal Oak but I think housekeeping only bothered to visit for one of those days. They forget to mention on the website that there is NO parking at all. The rooms were poorly designed with no mirrors or towel rails. The shower temperature ranged from very hot to scalding. the windows in our room... more
