My 4 sisters, an aunt and a cousin stayed at this beautiufl art gallery/hometay of Stephen's and Tine in mid March 2013. We couldn;t have chosen better! We love everything about it! Love the canvasses in the rooms and dining rooms, everywhere! Stephen's work will be exhibited in Cambridge, England this April too, YOU GO STEPHEN! Apparently, we soon found... More

We have left our heart in Bario! My family of 7 stayed at jungle blues and what an unforgettable stay it was. Stephen and Tine and who could leave out Noah welcomed us into their home and it felt like we were one big extended family. Stephens art work gave the place a calm and cosy ambience. Their food is... Steven and Tine gave us a warm welcome, good food, and a comfortable place to sleep. But most importantly, they shared with us their valuable knowledge of Bario and the surrounding region. They walked us through a collection of hand drawn maps detailing various trips to nearby villages and sights. This gave us the information we needed to plan an... More

This is my second trip to Bario mainly because of the hospitality shown to me by Stephen and Tine (pronouced Ti-na) on my very first hike in the Kalabit Highlands 18 months ago. Simply put Stephen and Tine have made JBD a lovely cosy stay with their careful attentiveness and willingness to share the wonders of the Kelabit highlands with... More

My wife and I stayed with Tine and Stephen in July 2011 (sorry, forgot to post this review before). Of our 5 weeks in Sarawak and Sabah this was the most pleasant accommodation. It's a bit like being welcomed into someone's home. Jungle Blues Dream is all about them and what lovely people are they! Stephen showed us around the... More

Though I was alone on this trip, I never once felt that I was alone. Stephen and Tine were gracious hosts and the new friends I met in the highland welcomed me like an old friend into their homes. I was so inspired and fascinated by the numourous art pieces at the homestay and so happy for Stephen's success. The... More

Tine and Stephen are warm and friendly hosts, with great senses of humor, and the most incredibly tasty cooking. At jungle blues you will experience beautiful views, the sweet calm of silence, and lots of time to rest, hike, paint, write... or whatever suits your fancy in the quaint village of Bario.

We stayed at JBD for several nights. Very idyllic setting overlooking rice fields. Stephan and Tine were very friendly and accommodating, giving sensible advice on hikes and walking routes. The food was great (the wild boar stew superb) and the conversations interesting. Highly recommend staying here!
