My husband and I stayed at the Forgefield House as the last B & B before we left Ireland. We stayed at several different highly rated B & B's during our two weeks in Ireland and this was the best! It was the perfect package. The Forgefield House is new and beautifully built with attention to comfort. Our room was... More

Traveling in Ireland can be daunting as the roads here leave a lot to be desired. If you leave the main thoroughfare you are faced with potholes on every turn, suicide sheep and stray animals of every variety , donkeys to dogs. But, the scenery and the people make it all worthwhile. One such couple was Sheila and Sam Kemps,... More

The owners were delightful and helpful, the rooms comfortable and sprarkling clean, the breakfast delicious. What we loved most about Forgefield House, though, was the serenity of the setting. It was so nice to stay on the edge of town, away from the late night noise of the pubs in downtown Kenmare. It was also lovely to go for a... More

Sam and Sheila were fantastic hosts, very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. Rooms and service offered was top notch and the adorable family pet dog always about for a pat but never a nuisance. Superb value for money and can not wait to visit again soon.

Sheila and Sam were excellent hosts and made this a perfect stay. They provided excellent tips for places to eat in town and for local attractions. They also saved us several hours in our driving by giving us a much shorter route to our next destination. The house is very new and the rooms were very comfortable. The breakfast was... More

We had such a wonderful time in Kenmare on our trip, we decided to cut short our time in Castletownbere and return on the weekend. Unfortunately, most places were booked. We were lucky to get a room at Forgefield and were so happy with our choice! The room (and bathroom) were the biggest of the 5 other places we stayed.... More

John Clare describes well this beautiful part of the world 'The one delicious green that now pervades the woods and fields in endless lights and shades'. 'Forgefield' provides a relaxed atmosphere and, oh, the welcome by Sheila and Sam - so warm and sincere. The food was delicious, the bed so comfortable, spectacular views and good walking. I returned home... More

Selected the Forgefield House B&B based on TripAdvisor reviews and we were NOT disappointed. Our three nights were perfect at this B&B. Sam and Sheila were absolutely the best hosts! Our room and bathroom were very spacious and immaculately clean. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room overlooking the exquisite country-side. The food was plentiful and delicious. Sam and Sheila... More

My husband and I stayed at Forgefield house for four nights during our holiday in Ireland and loved every minute of it. The house is new, gorgeous, and spotless and our room was enormous. Our hosts, Sheila and Sam (and Casper the dog), were two of the most interesting and accommodating people I've ever met and by the end of... More

After numerous email communications and date changes, Sheila remained gracious and accommodating. After arriving into Kenmare from Kinsale, not realizing just how grueling a trip through the mountains after dark it would be and how long it would take, we were warmly welcomed by Sheila who had to stay up waiting for us! In spite of the late hour, she... More
