The reviews are all true. I e-mailed Tara Farm to reserve a room months in advance. I read the reviews about not honoring reservations, so I wanted to ensure that I was completely booked in (I really liked the location, and since it was the low season, I decided to chance it). I e-mailed again about a month before going... more

We arrived at 7 pm after braving Irish roads for several hours to drive to Kenmare, only to discover that our reservation had been lost by the owner. She sent us up the road to another B&B, which conveniently had a room available. We later found out that this is a regular occurrence. In fact, the owner of Rockcrest B&B... more

Great location, only a kilometer out of town. Beautiful views over the river and at the mountains. The hostess was very gracious and provided us with great information and help. Breakfast was great. Rooms were clean. Great place to stay as a base for the southwest. more

On arrival we were told that we would be staying in a nearby house run by the same family. It was 2 houses down, but not as nice. We were awakened in the middle of the night by the family at this house! They were drunk and arguing! At breakfast the next morning two other groups also claimed to have... more

As other people have posted, reservations are not always honored. We planned our trip in May, had a confirmed reservation, and felt we had everything completed. I had spent a lot of time researching our choices and was excited about this one. Two days before we flew out I sent an email confirming our arrival and received a message back... more

We stayed at Tara Farm for 3 nights on our recent 10 day trip to Ireland. With all the great B&Bs reviewed on here, I'm sorry we opted for this one. It was ok but nothing special - probably we had been spoiled by staying at the Killarney Lodge and the Milestone House in Dingle. Tara Farm seemed like they... more

One of the greatest highlights of our 2 weeks Ireland trip was the Seascape Lodge in Kenmare. The magnificent holiday house is situated in a beautiful big garden, which borders on the forest on high ground, giving us a breathtaking view of Kenmare Bay and the foggy Macgillycuddy's Reeks in the far distance. Every morning we enjoyed having a cup... more

I booked a 3 night stay 5 months ago but was given a back room with a view of a large bush! The room was clean and comfortable but rather dark. I did ask for a swap but didn't get one. There was tea/coffee facilities but no biscuits. The remote control was missing the batteries but we used the lounge... more

Kenmare is a pleasant little town in the SW of Ireland, very handy by private car to Killarney (which has now grown too big for its boots). Tara Farm is about 1-2 km out side of Kenmare town and is a beautifully located B & B run by Anne Maybury - a gem herself. My 3 adult children and I... more

My friends and I want to share our delight with the Seascape Lodge and its owners, Anne and Sean. The house not only met our expectations but exceeded them! We reveled in the house's quiet, scenic location and its abundant, modern amenities. From the comfortable, en-suite bedrooms to the well-equipped kitchen, we felt right at home the moment we walked... more
