I was lucky enough to read about Watersedge in Rick Steves' 2009 Ireland guide. I could not have been happier. Located very conveniently just outside of the beautiful and picturesque town of Kenmare (a 10 minute walk in nice weather), Watersedge is a beautiful and spacious home run by Noreen O'Shea, who could not be nicer or more welcoming. The... more

Kenmare is a small, easy-to-navigate town close to the Ring of Kerry, the Beara Peninsula, and Kilarney National Park (and Muckross House). Stay here and avoid the touristy atmosphere and crowds of Kilarney town. We especially enjoyed the Water's Edge B&B just outside Kenmare. The hostess is delightful and the facilities bright, cheery, clean, and comfortable. Did I mention reasonably... more

Waters Edge is a nice B&B. Being purpose-built, there is plenty of room for guests and hosts. Our room was very spacious, with a comfortable ensuite; we also had a nice view of the bay from it, which was lovely. The service was nice and friendly, just like in most B&Bs around this part of Ireland. Breakfast was -again- good... more

The little details were everywhere at the Watersedge in Kenmare. The rooms and public areas are very nicely decorated. The B&B is at the end of a lane. The B&B is not in town but it's very close. An easy 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk. It's just a lovely location. Noreen was a very gracious hostess who made... more

We stayed for 2 nights at the Watersedge B&B in Kenmare. It's a little tucked away, just over the bridge at the edge of downtown, down a couple of sideroads but only about a 3 minute drive from the heart of town. What a view of the lake (or was it a river, or sea inlet...I don't remember) But we... more

Watersedge represents the best of B&Bs. It's charming without being over decorated, the hostess and her daughter are friendly and welcoming, the room is clean and comfy, and breakfast is divine. No need to get the standard Irish fry here; try the cheese, ham, and yummy yoghurt. The family dog greets you with a toy in mouth wanting to play.... more

Kenmare, Ireland ... what a beautiful place. This B&B is a little way out of town, but a pleasant walk over the bridge and into the heart of Kenmare ... about 15 minutes brisk walking. The setting is stunning, as it overlooks the water and mountains beyond. We had a delightful room with a view. the room was very spacious... more
