Because we stayed here in November, we were offered (and agreed to use) one of the self-catering suites - it was very cozy and warm, even in the midst of overnight gales - the Milhenches were very accommodating, and provided a continental breakfast as part of the arrangement - Mrs. Milhench checked in on us every day - place was very... more

...and this is saying a lot since this was our first trip to the homeland of some of our ancestors. Mary and Jim Milhench made us feel immediately at home in our very well equipped efficiency apartment. The private deck, with its near views of the town and far views of neighboring hillside, was a very special place to enjoy... more

We arrived on May 6, 2009, having arrived in Shannon a few hours early. The proprietor (Jim Milhench) was very accommodating and hospitable. Location is great in downtown Dingle, close to everything. We loved the efficiency units and larger bathrooms. Thanks for everything! more

While the concept of the Captains House has changed, as it is no longer a B @B. The rooms we rented were very nice and located right in the town of Dingle. You are no longer able to use the garden entrance or sit on the property. The owners have built a lovely deck off the suite where you can... more

Currently living in Dublin and coping with the hectic pace that comes along with it, it was time for a break - somewhere scenic, peaceful but not boring. Thanks to the good people of TripAdvisor my boyfriend and I discovered the Captain's House in Dingle. We drove down in the evening on a Thursday and stayed until Saturday around noon... more

The Captain's House was by far our favorite accomodation during our honeymoon to Ireland (that includes our 4 star hotel in Dublin)! The property is perfectly situated in the middle of town, but you would never know this from your window, as there is a large and well kept garden in front yard. Breakfasts were exceptional. There were plenty of... more

Only stayed one night...next time will stay longer. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed was amazing! We got the best night sleep there. Breakfast was great. The house is beautiful and full of neat antiques. Within walking distance of everything. more

This B&B is a must-stay while you are in Dingle. My fiance and I were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at The Captian's House and before us found a beautiful, well maintained, spotless, peaceful, and serene property (as the B&Bs we had experienced thus far were far from exceptional). Our room was spacious, sunny, and the bed was very comfortable.... more

I agree with most of the other reviewers thoughts on this cozy B&B. I thought it was very pleasant and welcoming. My only gripe is the narrow alley in back where we were expected to park. We happened to roll into town during "rush hour" we were told. Upon driving down the back alley I found it crowded with people,... more

We stayed 3 days on the Captain's house. We had the suite 3. It is on 2 levels: the lower one with the bathroom, a kitchen and a small lounge area with two fantastic recliner armchairs ( the most comfortable ones I ever found) overlooking the front garden, the second level is the attic bedroom: my husband is 6'3 and... more
