If you want to stay in the middle of nowhere in a drab, worn-out hotel, then this is the place for you. If you are a non-smoker, you DO NOT want to be in this place. more

Both my wife and myself stayed in Smerwick Hotel for past three days and we had a most enjoyable stay there. We had been very apprehensive about staying there, following some of the reviews published on your site. We had a most comfortable large double room at an incredible room only price of €59. We had an excellent breakfast each... more

Have just had a 5 night stay there with my wife and 2 children and were all sorry to leave. Thought the food very good and excellent value, particularly children's portions which were priced at less than half the adults menu. Bedroom, although not luxurious, was large , clean and comfortable. The bar was an oasis of peace where we... more

When you drive into a hotel and there are 3ft weeds outside the side entrance, you start to get worried. The lobby is dreary and drab, with no character to it at all. The receptionist was polite but never asked us to sign in, or take a credit card swipe, just handed out the key. The bedroom was musty, really... more

I have just returned from the Smerwick Harbour Hotel it was Lovely. The staff are freindly and Profesional. The Food was Top Notch. Atmosphere was Friendly and Worm. The bar was a bit Quite with only a few locals but i like a quite few pints. I beleave that it has only recently come under new management. The room was... more

We have just returned from a weekend to Dingle. It was a 3 hour car drive, for my wife and two children age 3 and 7. I had rang the Hotel to let them know that we would be late arriving, about 10pm. When we arrived at the Smerwick, the desk area was scruffy with papers thrown on the floor... more

Just back after spending 2 nights in this "Hotel". Have no idea where it gets its 3* rating. Definitely only a 2*. Truly awful decor with miserable furnishings of the poorest quality. The net curtains were torn & coming apart, the main curtains hanging about 1 inch under the window. Everything was so miserable & cheap. The room smelt slightly... more

We stayed in this hotel in 2003 and we thought it was absolutely fantastic. We ate in the restaurant and couldn't fault the food or service, everything was lovely. The room was clean, bright and so spacious. The bathroom was also nice. We thought this hotel was such a bargain and would definately hope to stay here if we go... more

We stayed in this hotel recently & left a day early it was so bad. The food was really bad in the bar and the reception smelled of the toilets which are right next to the rception desk & have the doors opened permanently ! The waitress we had serving dinner was the most unfriendly helpful person we have ever... more

Every year we take a few days holiday in Dingle Co. Kerry. We decided to stay in the Smerwick hotel. It was our second visit. First of all the rooms are very spacious, brightly decorated and very clean. Secondly the views from the hotel are second to none, absolutely amazing. This hotel is not your run of the mill plush... more
