Revisited the Hotel recently, as part of special return visit offer. Hotel has changed hands, new young couple running it. Delighted to see the hotel had been revamped but still holds its character. All rooms are clean and have all facilities you need. Impressed to see the bar has had a face lift and has a real buzz. Breakfast is... more

My fiancee and I found this hotel a literal blast from the past; with it's late Victorian/Early Edwardian style which would appeal to vistors seeking a relaxed atmosphere. The owner warmly greeted us on our arrival and gave us coffee and biscuits as way of refreshment.(no charge) The room we were given had a double bed in one room and... more

I have to agree with some of the other reviews. This is a run down hotel in need of face lift. It was like staying at an old aunts house who hasn't decorated in 30 years. The manager was polite but I'm sorry to say this hotel wasn't for me. I'm glad it was just one night. more

I want people to be very clear of what to expect from Hogas hotel. You will recieve a good welcome (that is what I would expect from any hotel owner). The first thing that hit me... more

As part of my work, I've travelled intensively in the west of Ireland from late Spring to early Autumn 2004, and yet frequently found myself returning time and again to Hogan's Hotel. The quality (and comfort) of this welcoming, if not antiquated, hotel far surpassed many of the other lower cost accomodation (€30-40 p.p.) I encountered in Mayo, Sligo or... more

The one good point about "Hogans hotel "as it is now known was that we did recieved a very nice welcome. This was the worst hotel I stayed in on my visit to Ireland in july 04. The hotel is depressing to say the least. The hotel is shabby and in need of a complete face lift. Our first room... more

When you enter, you immediately feel like you are in a home ,not a business. Then you are greeted like you are an old friend and conversation becomes so relaxed and your luggage is taken to your room with no renumeration expected or wanted. Then you are cordially treated with a tray of sweets and a hot pot of tea.... more
