The room was very nice and the people were friendly, but the food in the restaurant was inedible and expensive. The fish was so over cooked that I could not pierce the scallops with a fork and the fillet was as crispy as a piece of bacon. The vegetables were also overcooked and watery. The Hotel was fine regarding the facilities & the entertainment in the bar was very good, however the stay was spoilt by the poor quality food.The evening meal was over elaborate in presentation & poor on quality. We had a weekend stay here recently and we had the set dinner. We had 3 courses x 7 people and the only plates which were remotely acceptable were 2 vegetable soups. I sent all 3 courses back virtually untouched and nobody bothered to ask why. more

What can I say!!!!!!!! The best holiday ever. The hotel staff cannot do enough. Entertainment the best I,ve heard for a while.The meals excellent.The rooms very nice.Would recommend highly,booked for next year on checkout. more

Visit the Ostan Synge Hotel in Geesala for the best restaurant in the area. Geesala is a tiny village which retains it's quiet charm. The food in the hotel was a great surprise for such an out of the way place. Visit it and see. You rarely have to book. Ask for a window seat. A very quiet restful eating... more

Stayed here with two large groups. Since we were the leaders of the group we knew the hotel and the location. It is a wonderful place in County Mayo. Quiet, calm and relaxing. The staff were extremely kind to our group. Even if you haed out to the hotel for a dinner or evening meal it is worth the trip... more
