We stayed with Ultan and Lucy just for 1 night for a small break. They were so friendly I can't recommend their guest house enough. We ate with them and the other guests, had a lovely meal, all home grown/baked, delicious! Had interesting conversation's. Very comfortable beds and room. Ultan took me on a tour of his veg farm, very interesting!... more

We spent one night at Gort Na Nain and have nothing but good things to say about our experience: the gourmet, home-made vegetarian food exceeded all expectations, as did the lively conversation w/ Ultan and Lucy, the informative farm tour w/ Ultan and the generous travel and food tips provided by them both. We recommend Gort Na Naim with no... more

The booked at Gort-Na-Nain because we read on the internet that they cater to special diets including gluten-free (a very important consideration for one of us who has coeliac disease). And, wow, do they ever - with mouth watering gourmet cooking using their own organic farm products. For that reason alone, we were delighted with this B&B. But, everything else... more

This was my second stay at Gort Na Nain and I can't recommend it highly enough. Set in the heart of South Cork's rolling farmland, and with views of the Atlantic reminding you that you're only a few miles from the coast, it's a great location to explore this beautiful part of Ireland. The owners, Lucy and Ultan, are such... more

It’s wonderful. We stayed for a night and enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Lucy and Ultan. The conversation, food, and drink were great. We had an itinerary that we reviewed with Ultan; he promptly recommended a few non-touristy spots, so we changed our plans and followed his recommendations; we made the right decision. The room was clean and comfortable... more

The Hubby, the Puppy (german shepherd age 6) and me were lucky enough to have stayed 3 nights in Lucy and Ultan's wonderful guesthouse. We had dinner on two of the nights we stayed there and I guarantee you wont find better value or quality in Ireland. I would even go so far as to say our first meal there,... more

We have just travelled all around the coast of Ireland from Larne to Cork, staying in hotels and guest houses. This is the best we have stayed in - first class accomodation, great food and a really friendly young couple running it. It's a new house with all mod cons but has all the charm of an older farm house... more

Our big mistake was staying at Gort Na Nain as the first B&B during our 18-day trip in Ireland in which we stayed at 7 B&Bs. Gort Na Nain was SO good in every aspect that every B&B we stayed in afterwards ended up being inferior! Ultan and Lucy are wonderful people who went out of their way to make... more

We stayed in Gort-na-Nain as my wife is a veggie and I wanted to treat her. It was a really fantastic place. Ultan showed us both around the farm and all the vegetable patches. The room was lovely and water heated by their solar panels. The peace and quiet was fab as was the lovely meal. All in all, 10/10.... more

Okay, I admit I'm writing this review reluctantly. The reason?... Gort-Na-Nain is a real gem, the kind of place you want to go back to time and again, the kind of place you want to tell your sister and your best friend about, but no-one else. But after two visits – the time has come to spill the beans, so... more
