Desmond House was perfect in every way - location, character, history, setting, hospitality and cleanliness. The rooms were so spacious and luxurious - especially the jacuzzi baths! Breakfast was so fresh and tasty, served next to a very cosy open fire. Desmond House itself has so much history and we felt very lucky to be able to stay in such... more

Exceptional bed & breakfast and Michael was wonderful in every way. We wondered if he was a retired favorite college profession with his knowledge of history combined with wonderful storytelling abilities. The breakfast was worthy of a gourmet and the bathtubs were so appreciated after hours on our feet. Large rooms, wonderful beds, Michael made parking a breeze and a... more

Our single night in Kinsale could not have been better, thanks to Michael and Desmond house. It is a gorgeous old house, beautifully decorated and maintained. Not to mention the new jacuzzi-jet bathtubs were a huge plus. Michael gave us a brief and interesting history of the house and of Kinsale, great recommendations for dinner and the must-sees of the... more

Kinsale is a small town, but we still managed to get lost trying to find Desmond House. Michael, the innkeeper, came down the street to show us the way. He helped us with our luggage, parked our car for us, and showed us to a beautifully-decorated, spacious room, complete with large shower and jetted tub. He told us about the... more

As you drive into the town of Kinsale, it seems as if you are stepping into another world, and Desmond House Kinsale and its owner/operator Michael only help to further that feeling. Although it took us a moment to navigate the streets of Kinsale, we arrived to a warm welcome from Michael. He helped to move our extremely heavy luggage... more

We stayed in Desmond's House in kinsale whilst we doing the Scally Rally. It was recommended by the organizers. Michael the owner was a lovely friendly person which for us makes our stay that little bit nicer. Rather than describe the room we stayed in I have posted some photos and that way you can make your own mind up.... more

We just returned from a 10 day trip in Ireland. One of our stops was in the lovely town of Kinsale. We had a wonderful stay at Desmond House. Michael, owner and host, is a lovely and gracious man. He was a wealth of information from restaurants and what to see and do. This B&B is in an excellent location;... more

Thank you Michael for helping to make our final night in Ireland - in lovely Kinsale - so wonderful! Desmond House is beautiful - full of history, antiques, good conversation and great breakfasts (the best hollandaise I've ever had.) Our room was large and comfortable, with a king bed and very nice bathroom. We only wish we had stayed for... more
