My husband and I visited Kinsale and stayed at the Desmond House. We quickly fell in love with this town!! We had a gorgeous room with a view of the harbor and Michael was extremely warm and welcoming. We hope to come back for a longer stay next time!! Thank you, Michael! More

We arrived at Desmond House for just a one night stay and were met warmly by our host, Michael. He and I stood outside reserving a parking space while my husband relocated our car. While waiting Michael shared the history of this lovely, historic house, most interesting. We stayed in the Castle Suite, very charming. Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast with an... More

Returned to Desmond House and Kinsale after visiting 5 years ago. We were very pleased to see Michael still running the business, still with his entertaining and informative style. Great accommodation, welcome, breakfast, and service. Could not pick any fault with anything at Desmond House, and recommend it in the highest terms to anyone thinking of visiting Kinsale. Thank you... More

Desmond house, and it's host Michael is a true delight! He is knowledgeable and gracious and a pleasure to talk to (about anything!). The breakast is marvelous - the eggs are local and the salmon is delicious and a hearty portion. The rooms are large and well-kept and the place is in a great location! I could not recommend this... We just returned from a wonderful 12 day stay in Ireland. We only had one spare night between our visit to Ireland's breathtaking west coast and our return to Dublin, so we decided to stop in Kinsale based on a friend's recommendation. Our travel agent booked us in to the Desmond House and we were absolutely delighted from the moment... More

We (4 adults, one child) stayed at the Desmond House on July 15th, 2011 - I believe it was. Only one night, sadly. We decided on Kinsale because it is a quaint little town just south of Cork. Boy, was that the right choice! Michael greeted us with a smile on his face - "You've arrived!" - as if he... More

We stayed there last night and were more than impressed. Good large room with comfortable king-size bed. Large bathroom. Treated myself to a Radox-infused Jacuzzi this morning which wiped out the hangover in no time. The breakfast was a standout. Dublin sausages, Cork market bacon, Clonakilty white and black pudding plus an egg from the woman up the road with... More

Michael provided excellent advice to us concerning restaurants in Kinsale as well as a great list of things to see and do on the day following our visit to Kinsale. It was raining when we arrived. Michael had saved a place for us to park just across the street, and he made a restaurant reservation for us at a wonderful... More
