This was just the most fabulous place to stay. It's in a perfect location, has ample parking, great security at night, a really friendly atmosphere & the rooms are HUGE!!! The owner Maureen & her family looked after us so well, the beds are so comfy, rooms were spotless & have everything you need in them. Would have no problem... More

I have recently stayed at the Friars Lodge in Kinsale on the 8 & 9th April 2013. The hotel is a true jewel in the crown of Kinsale and a hop, skip and a jump into the town centre but far enough away for peace and quiet. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you, the breakfasts... More

We had a terrific stay at this accommodation. The young lady booking us in could not have been more helpful, even booking us in for a great meal at a local restaurant. When we came back, we were delighted to see chocolates on our pillows and feel the warmth of the room as the heating was turned on for us... More

We were pleasantly surprised by Friar's Lodge. We reserved a suite and got a great deal on a really generously sized room with two beds and a big seating area. We had a nice view over the town, too. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was very generous. Cork is the capital of food, and Friar's Lodge is no... More

We stayed here between Christmas and New year for a family wedding. The rooms are huge and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was well kitted out with a wonderful power shower. Linens were of high standard. Very quiet. None of the usual noises you get in a big hotel. Great sleep. Breakfast was lovely. Cooked breakfast freshly prepared. Not the usual... More

The Lodge was full when we got to town..but they did offer us the private house a few doors down they owned. It was a good location a block from town so easy to walk to everything. The home for the most part was good. They seemed to have remodled a lot..the kitchen, the entry, the bathrooms....unfortunately I would think... More

We called all around Kinasle looking for accommodations at night and this was the only place that had a room. Looking at their website/brochure I would not have called this hotel at all because it looked extremely expensive (price signs in room listed room at 55 EUR/person/night). They gave it to us for 30 EUR/person/night for the 4 of us... More

We had a nice stay in this lodge. Right in the downtown area, close to restaurants and bars. Very clean and nice. Beds were a bit hard, but overall it was enjoyable. Breakfast was very good! The Town of Kinsale was very lively! We popped into several bars...all paying different kinds of music. The people in restaurants and the bars... More

We stayed at the Friar's Lodge on our Rick Steves 14-day tour of Ireland and it was fine. The rooms are large, but there is no clock in the bedroom. There is a bathtub in the bathroom, and American style washcloths (yea). In addition to the main building that are three townhouses with kitchen facilities etc. that would easily serve... More

It is not glamorous. But it is very clean and staffed by people who care about your happiness. Breakfast was delicious. Hubby loved the eggs with smoked Salmon. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby, with hot spots located throughout. Only available in your room if you are in one next to a hot spot. A quick stroll into town, a very... More
