Having stayed in some dodgy places whilst in Ireland we decided to push the boat out and stay at the Quay House. We were not disappointed in the slightest. We talk of the breakfasts still! We were made so welcome. The room was a suite no less and the place is amazing. Had we not been booked on the flight... more

This place will take your breath away. I found this place by chance. When I arrived into Clifden, I asked a restaurant manager for a recommedation... he suggested I start at the Quay House. I thanked my lucky stars when I arrived. Quetly situated down by the water, this elegant, yet homely guesthouse/hotel, was the most magical place of my... more

My partner and I discovered this gem of a guest house when we Googled 'hotels in Clifden' after leaving our previous hotel in disappointment - see earlier review. We were thrilled at our unexpected discovery. As a previous reviewer has said, The Quay House is more like a boutique hotel, classily furnished but with a different, quirky touch to all... more

We live in Asia but when we travel to Ireland (my husband has business and family there), I always insist on a sidetrip specifically to the Quay House (we have been there about five times over the past 8 years). Julia and Paddy are the perfect hosts and we are made to feel very much at home each visit (and... more

We spent two nights here, exploring the local area (and getting engaged!). An absolutely wonderful B&B which, although outside Clifden proper, is an easy walk into town. The owners (and dogs!) could not have been more helpful and charming. We had a harbour view room, right at the top with beautiful views across the bay. I can thoroughly recommend staying... more

This B&B is in a lovely location - by the water but close to Clifden's shops and restaurants. We had a very large and comfortable room in the new part of the B&B. An old magazine in our room described Paddy as the Orsen Wells of interior design. I can understand this - the B&B is full of interesting and... more

Paddy and Julia make you feel at home in this well situated and beautiful inn located next to the harbor and just a 5 minute walk to town. This couple knows how to treat their guests and make you feel at home. They will go out of there way to insure that your stay is pleasant and that your needs... more

Firsly, the hosts, Paddy and Julia are lovely and make you feel at home instantly. The decor of the hotel is amazing with an abundance of antiques, paintings and books everywhere. The breakfast in the conservatory was brilliant with everything natural and fresh. The position is only a small walk away from the town centre but i loved being able... more

My wife and I spent a very comfortable night here. A spacious suite with a luxurious bathtub. The room furnishings were stylish, yet very comfortable, and the common areas were a museum unto themselves. Breakfast in the solar was a delight for both the eyes and the palate, and the owners were really nice to us. I highly recommend The... more

we booked for 1 night and to be honest felt we did not get a lot of value for what we paid. The location leaves a lot to be desired especially when the tide is gone out as there appears to be a major sewage problem within the area. Parking is also very strange given the rates as you have... more
