The standards were high, parking facilities great, welcome and spent time explaining attractions and provided details of arts festival being held that week. Beds were comfortable, a little close to the ground for my taste but comfortable and clean none the less. Who needs a TV on holiday. Breakfast was as good as anywhere you will find. The fresh fruit... more

We happened upon Hillside Lodge when desperately looking for accommodation quite late one evening, and got their last room - lucky us! The house appears to have been purpose built as a B&B, and is comfortable, peaceful, very clean and with beautiful views towards the sea. Irish B&B's differ from those in the UK, in that you very rarely have... more

We stayed here for 2 nights. We initially requested the kingsize room (room no. 6), but it was only available for the 2nd night. So we were given room no. 5 for the first night. It was nice and cosy but not as fantastic as room no. 6!!! Highly recommend it. There's a lovely lounge on the ground floor for... more

Hillside Lodge is located on a beautiful Sky Road on the Atlantic Coast. The place is warm, very clean and nicely decorated. Tasty breakfast - choice of either continental or Irish. We truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone exploring beautiful Connemara. more

We spent two nights at Hillside Lodge. The house is very beautiful and the location is ideal if you enjoy going for walks. Even the town is not too far to walk to. The welcome was warm, and Ruth was very helpful with our dirty laundry for example. On the whole, though, it seemed to me a bit impersonal, maybe... more

There are many positives to this B&B. The house and location are lovely. The rooms are large, elegantly furnished with a clean bathroom. For those of you who would like a TV - be aware there isn't one in the room nor in the guests lounge area. There is a folder in the room with good recommendations as to where... more

What a wondeful home to stay in. The quality of the rooms, decor and breakfast was on a par with a boutique hotel. We're not sure how Ruth does it on the amazing prices she charges! We had such a wonderful relaxed stay and would highly recommend this stylish, friendly and warm, welcoming home to anyone. Connemara and Clifden are... more

We only stayed here 1 night, but wished we had stayed longer. We decided to stay at hillside because of its location and recommendations on trip advisor. We weren't disappointed. Ruth made us feel very welcome, our room was very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. This was one of favorite B&B's that we stayed at during our 2... more
