Aside from the absolutely stunning and breath-taking views of ballyroon, the 36 acre farm on which the little cabin (Ballyroon Mountain B&B) is situated on is a truly magical and enchanted place. With an abundance of bodies of flowing water, creeks and streams, misty fairy-tale like forests under a canopy of huge trees, wide open fields, rolling hills alongside rocky cliffs with beautiful waterfalls, even farm animals like pigs and donkeys- anyone and everyone will find some aspect of this beautiful little hidden secret absolutely astonishing, if not all of it! The Ballyroon Mountain Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place to stay situated in a stunningly beautiful spot. The cottage, or "bothy", is located about 50 meters from Roger and Sue's (owners) farmhouse where you eat breakfast prepared with the farm's organically produced fruits and vegetables. The cottage also has spectacular views of the ocean and is in earshot of one of several waterfalls on the property. Roger and Sue are excellent hosts and will help you decide which of the many spectacular hikes in and around the farm and property is right for you. The Sheep's Head Way, with its coves and seaside cliffs, is especially beautiful. The place would be an ideal summer escape, but was also perfect in February - we we're quite lucky with the weather. I definitely recommend this place and will be heading back in the future. more
