John and Dympna hosted our party of five at Dromcloc in mid-September. They were warm and helpful hosts and bent over backwards to care to our needs and make our stay enjoyable. This is not a new and shiny B&B. It sits above the Bantry Bay on a working farm, and it is as authentically Irish as you'll find. Great... more

The farm house is a perfect base for trips along any of the three peninsulas. Although it is situated away from the main road, it was very easy to find the way. We had a room with the beautiful view at the Bantry Bay and the mountains on the Beara Peninsula. The room was clean warm. Every morning there was... more

We stayed at Dromcloc House for 1 week, using it as a base for touring the Sheepshead, Mizenhead, and Beara Peninsulas. The main activities of our trip involved walking and cycling these Peninsulas. When looking for a place to stay, we wanted good hospitality, good value, unpretentious accommodation that provided good access to the areas we wished to explore. We... more

Johnny and Dympha not only provided a wonderful breakfast with choices and warm hospitality, but they went above and beyond to provide us with information about the area and our possible relatives. They arranged for an intimate bus trip on the rural transport bus and Johnny appraised us of a short walk to an altar used in the penal times.... more

I stayed at Dromcloc House in March 2009 - a repeat visit for me (see my "Irish Hospitality at its Best" review from Feb 2008) - and after seeing all the positive reviews, realized I never added mine from my latest visit. Once again I was treated to a wonderful room, incredible view, fantastic breakfast, and even more help from... more

We found this dairy farm B&B quite by accident shortly after passing through the center of Bantry, and it was one of those "hmmm... maybe the good Irish fairies led us here?" things. We had been in a variety of settings for two weeks, including 4 star places, so we had a good notion of the range of spa vs... more

I agree with every 'rave' review of Dromcloc and the Crawleys. The bed was so comfortable I slept better than at home. Electric blankets are a cosy touch in the unsettled weather of SW ireland. Nothing was too much trouble and fresh fruit salad at breakfast rather than the usual 'tinned' was a treat. I cant wait to go back. more

My wife and I just returned from a trip to Ireland. At Bantry, we intented on staying one night at the Dromcloc House but stayed FIVE. Dromcloc House was the perfect place to use as a base of operation for touring the area. The owners, Dympna and Johnny Crowley, were most helpful with all sorts of local information. They spent... more
