We booked a night with Gilberts while on our honeymoon. When we arrived on March 16th, we were told we would be moved upstairs since we were the only ones booked for the night. We were pleasantly surprised when we found that we were upgraded (at no additional cost) to the penthouse apartment! Wow! It was spectacular. The townhouse rooms... More

Dear Lilly L Thank you most kindly for your Trip Advisor review of Gilbert's Acommodation. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay here and more particularly that it was your honeymoon. I always feel that the penthouse suite is the perfect honeymoon hideaway. Best of luck to both of you. Kindest regards Ann Daly Co - owner More

This place is nothing short of perfect. I was traveling alone and during off season, so I was offered the Penthouse which was HUGE! It had a bedroom with TV and plugs by both sides of the bed, very updated and clean bathroom with the best shower I have ever had and even heated towel racks, a living room with... More

Great location in Cobh, right in the heart of the village. We checked-in in the restaurant and were offered a choice of two rooms. One at the back of the building, which was lovely upon viewing but we went for the second option at the front of the building just above the restaurant, a bigger room with lovely view out... More

The day before we arrived all of our luggage was stolen. We were tired, weary, and worn down. After a 30 minute and 45 Euro taxi cab ride, we arrived to Gilbert's in Cobh. For whatever reason they had our arrival on a different day. The attendent didn't make a fuss, made the correction in the book, (thankfully we weren't... More

When I arrived in Cobh, Co. Cork to start a two day visit, the coastal rain and wind was in full swing. However, the charm, convenience of location, and friendly staff made the stopover memorable for reasons other than the weather. The restaurant/inn is located within twenty years of St Colmans Cathedral, the Titanic Museum, and the Heritage Center (containing... More

Unbelievable charm, character, location, and VALUE. Wonderfully appointed, quiet room. Very modern bathroom. Very clean. Attentive and kind staff. Third trip to Ireland from the US in last three years and Gilbert's ranks up there with the many 5 star hotels in which we have stayed. Worth going out of your way to stay here. Would cost 3-4 times as... More

I stayed at Gilbert's in February and May 2012. The rooms at Gilbert's are large, tastefully decorated, and very clean. The staff are wonderful and food in Gilbert's restaurant is excellent. Cobh is a great place to stay with restaurants, shops, museums, walking tours of Cobh & Spike Island, boat tours of the harbor and many other interesting sites. Plus,... More

We were passing through Cobh recently and stumbled upon Gilbert's. What a buzzing spot! The food was great, the staff were so friendly and efficient. The decor is lovely, and the place was spotlessly clean despite the fact that it was so incredibly busy (with a cruise ship in port and all of the visitors for the Titanic's anniversary). My... More
