We took my parents here for the weekend with a view to using the hotel as a base for seeing the area. The hotel was easy to find but finding a car park space was out of the question and the hotel does little to help you. The reception staff offer little in the way of a welcome and the... more

My family and I stayed in 2 rooms at the Commodore which was a big disappointment. When we arrived we requested waterfront rooms which were available for an additional charge which we paid. One of the rooms had dirty coffee cups, flies and lost electricity at one point. The lights were turned on quickly after contacting front desk. We had... more

Stayed at the Commodore with my Mum after booking with bookings.com - got a fantastic deal at only €90 for 3 nights bed and breakfast for the two of us. We had breakfast in bed each morning for only €5 surcharge and the breakfast was to die for. Hearty Irish served with toast and the freshest soda bread ever! The... more

This is my 3rd trip to the Commodore Hotel and I have never had a bad experience there. I have been for 2 new years eves and this time for a family gathering. The hotel is currently being refurbished and the bar area looks lovely and the space has been well used, I believe they are working on the rooms... more

The hotel is an old building with plenty of history. We stayed in a room with a view overlooking the harbour which was fantastic. The staff are very friendly, the food was excellent and I would definitely recommend this hotel. more

The hotel location and my room overlooked the harbour and were excellent. The ensuite room in fact was like a small suite with a sitting area as well as the bedroom. The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff was excellent and the food and drink was superb and cheerfully served. All in all, a very comfortable stay accompanied by... more

We came back after 40 years. The hotel staff made us very welcome. Service and food were excellent. The evening entertainment was late starting @ 10pm and some of it was not quite good. Overall, a homely hotel. Thanks for everything. more

We stayed in the lovely town of Cobh in early July 2007. On arrival, we noted the hotel was 'quaint' that was why we wanted to stay in the first place. The check-in went fine, but the directions to our room was very offputting! The receptionist told us to go up the lift and turn right. When we did, we... more

Just got back from a 2 night weekend break at the Commodore in Cobh. It was a mixed experience with good and bad and to be honest most of the previous posts were pretty accurate. To sum up the good things were: - Good location right on the front overlooking great harbour views - Helpful and polite staff - Great... more

We have various rates for different types of rooms and obviously our rates vary asto time of year. However, our most expensive rate is €69 pp, not €90.

Our party returned to the Commodore 1year after our last visit, the refurbishments taking place are now really showing. The halls and stairways are well carpeted and decorated, and many of the rooms have been updated. 46 of us stayed this year for 2 nights, the food was superb, and the staff most helpful and friendly. Harbour views from the... more
