We (two adults and a 10 year old girl) really liked this place. It's in a gorgous setting;great views and trails behind the hotel when you are tired of the city. It's an easy walk down to Howth (and you go pass a castle!) You need to take transportation up though. The hotel is on top of a hill. Our... more

As a long-standing customer of the Deer Park Hotel, I thought I would give my tuppence worth. I have been dining at Deer Park Hotel on a regular basis since about 1996 and I think it is probably one of the finest hotels in Ireland. I come here time and time again for many reasons: the relaxed atmosphere, fine dining... more

I have only become aware of this site recently and was surprised at so many negative comments about this hotel and golf course. We took a family room for three nights with breakfast with the aim of getting in as much golf as possible. We arrived at the hotel after midnight and were met by the night porter with our... more

I must immediately state in this review that I and the group I go with have been visiting Deer Park for over ten years now for Golf weekends every other year. I would agree that potentially Deer Park could be a 5 star venue, with a reputation for exclusivity, and luxury. That would also reflect in the price! As a... more

Never have I been in such a sub standard hotel. I dont know how they get away with having any stars at all, never mind 3! Four of us took two twin rooms for a weekend. Judging from their website it looks fabulous. Little did we know what we were letting ourselves in for. The list is endless. One of... more

I am sorry to read this review, but do have some corrections to make. It was stated that the central heating was on 24 hours per day. This is not the case, as appart from the fact its not necessary, its would be too costly to do so. With regard to the broken plug behind the bed. This was replaced immediatley...

Arrived at the hotel in the pouring rain just as it was getting dark and did not have an opportunity to appreciate the magnificent views until the next morning. Room had furniture that should have been gorgeous (lovely dark mahogany) but was scruffy and chipped. It was nearly impossible to watch the television due to dreadful static. Everything in the... more

Stayed here for one night at the end of our few days in Ireland. As everyone else has said, it has a great location and views and is probably a good choice for a cheapo golf weekend with the lads - the golf course looked OK to me but I'm no judge. As to the rest... you pass the original... more

Im sorry we did not live up to expectations. We are constantly redecorating the hotel. With regard to the restaurants 70,s decor, this was completely redecorated in April last year, so I have to assume its just not to your taste. We will of course strive to correct all our shortcomings in your comments

Myself and partner, avid travellers to Ireland spent 5 fantastic days at this hotel in July/ august. Howth is a superb place to stay - HG Wells was right - Howth has the best view west of Naples. We spent 5 days walking the cliffs, sampling the local food and drinking the black nectar. Deer Park is unique, the largest... more

I wouldn't usually be so negative about a hotel but this one takes the biscuit. We stayed for a night when there was a great deal of 90 euro per night plus breakfast. We went with our six month old daughter. When we turned off the road into the property we thought 'Wow!!'. That quickly ended when we were greeted... more

Sadly, this was booked through Dublin's Tourism Office. They should be ashamed of their high acclaim. We booked two nights and left after the first one (would've departed sooner but we had arrived at 8pm). Everything was broken in the room: door would not lock, tv did not work, coffeepot rusted inside, and the entire hallway reeked like some animal... more
