I dropped in to the Restaurant at the Radisson Blu Hotel for lunch recently with two colleagues. We were delighted with the quality of the food and the professionalism of the staff. Friendly efficient service is very important nowadays and we were very well looked after by the Manageress whose name I believe was Avril. We will be back! more

stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in april. the location of the hotel on the river in central athlone is excellent. i stayed in a business class room overlooking the shannon. the rooms are a good size, the beds are large and comfy and the bathroom is spotless and roomy. the rooms have tv , free wi/fi and tea/coffee... more

Stayed in the Lough Owel suite midweek , given reduced rate! Lovely view of river Shannon , local church & town bridge. Breakfast one of the nicest I've had in a hotel & plenty of it, bar food a little disappointing, only downside to stay. Staff attentive & most helpful, really made the difference. Stayed in the Radisson Blu, Athlone for three days. Hotel's in a great location, has good parking, not very many staff, but friendly and helpful especially martina on reception, whose local knowledge is first class. The only downside was the restaurant, service was good but very slow. Food average, not what you would expect for a 4 star hotel. more

Went to Radisson Athlone for two night break recently with the family. The room was adequate, plenty of space on the 5th floor, and an extra bed was put into the room with no fuss. We arrived at the hotel late,(we had planned to have dinner at 6.30) at 7pm, the receptionist, a local person, was very friendly and pleasant, she managed to move our reservation to a later time with no fuss, even though the restaurant was fully booked that evening.
