A terrible rating for this hotel. Let me explain. We arrived at 1.45pm and were checked in straight away by a very friendly receptionist. We paid cash -€135-on the spot to avoid delays checking out, for our double room with breakfast. When we got to the room the staff had not got it ready so we left our baggage and... more

Stayed here for one night on NYE as we were attending a function at another hotel in Athlone and could not get a hotel room anywhere else. Check-in was fine, friendly receptionists who were helpful. Room was just ok - not the cleanest hotel room I have come across. Floor in bathroom looked a bit grubby and as we were... more

To put it simply we'll not be staying here again. If it's a comfortable bed with a roof over your head then it's fine but this hotel doesn't offer much else. We went as part of a 2 night /1 dinner offer. We decided to eat in the 'restaurant' the first night. I really cannot see how they can call... more

My husband and myself stayed at the creggan last weekend. It was a very enjoyable stay. The receptioist Tara and Paulette were extremely helpful. Aidan in the restaurant is a asset to the company. He will make an excellent hotel manager. We found the food to be excellent and the accomadation to be excellent. We had a very enjoyable stay... more

My husband and I stayed here over the Easter weekend. We decided at the last minute to visit Athlone and it was the only hotel with a room available for the weekend. The hotel lobby is clean, bright and spacious. Bedroom was smallish, but bright, very clean and contemporary, with ironing board and tea and coffee making facilities. Very comfortable... more

When we checked in, we were all quite impressed. That didnt really last long. I was running a bath, and noticed that the water had a tint of yellow. I wasnt sure if this was just my room, so I asked the other people that I checked in with, they all said they had the same problem, with brown bits... more

Stayed for just one night. Nice hotel and good value. Situated behind petrol station with some fast food restaurants in the complex. Room was well set out and comfortable although the bathroom was a little small. Overall it was spotless and clean. Breakfast was excellent with very attentive staff. Nice bar for a drink in the evening. more

We stayed at The Creggan Court Hotel in August while we were attending a wedding. The hotel is part of a small retail park in Athlone on the main Dublin to Galway road. There is a 24 hour petrol station and shop, McDonalds, Domino's pizza and plenty of shops to keep you busy. It is approx 3km from Athlone town... more
