Arrived in Athlone by train and having looked up the b and b's location on Google Maps proceeded to follow it expecting a 5 minute walk. My husband and I stayed overnight at Coosan Cottage while vacationing in Ireland. Aside from the B&B being a bit hard to find, we enjoyed our stay. The room (#4) with an en suite bath was very clean and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Tom, the owner, was so nice and funny. He genuinely cares about his guests.... more

The owner of the guesthouse was slightly intoxicated when we arrived, even though it was only 5 o'clock, and was not very helpful, although he was very friendly. For instance, we asked for a recommendation for dinner, and he told us to just have Chinese food delivered because going out would be too much trouble. The room was spacious enough... more

We stayed for one night at Coosan and loved it. Tom was friendly and had hot tea for us when we got there. The rooms are huge and clean and warm. Breakfast was tasty. more

Coosan Cottage is more like a friendly, boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. There is a small bar with couches that begs you to sit down and relax. very impressive - super clean, big spacious rooms, very friendly hosts, great food & good for the environment - all in all super value for money. the added advantage of bar always goes down a treat. will defintely stay there again when next back in town. highly recommended.. more

We stayed at the B&B whilst attending a friend's wedding in Athlone. The rooms were immaculately clean and very cosy with pretty bedspreads and ensuite bathrooms. Myself and my boyfriend stayed here over the weekend, we absolutly loved it here. Beautiful property, gorgeous rooms, all modern, well finished and spotlessly clean. Best thing was the fully licensed bar, we arrived late to check in and only had one drink while we were waiting for a taxi to town, however when we go back....which we definatley will... more
