We stayed here with a group of about 10 friends last year en route to Connemara. It was great. The locals chatted with us and there was some excellent Irish folk music. Good rooms, and a cracking breakfast. Wouldn't complain at all.

It's a bit far out of Athlone, so you have to drive in, and the pub food is bog standard- burgers and frozen chips and salad. Still, we didn't go for the gastronomy, and the welcome, music and breakfasts were top notch. A good stopover. more
