I stayed in Glengat from Feb-Sept 2009 and Tim (host) & his family looked after me very well. Glengat is a comfortable B&B, good hearty Irish breakfast & bedrooms would give any 3/4 star hotel a run for their money, fully recommend Glengat to any traveller needing a comfortable abode for the night in Dundalk. more

We stayed at Glen Gat House in the run up to our wedding and enjoyed every moment. The house itself is lovely and welcoming, bedrooms are spotless, well kept and modern. The proprietors, Tim and Catherine, along with all the staff we met, were so easygoing and went all out to make us and our party feel welcome. The location... more

We stayed at the Glen Gat on two separate occassions during our recent visit to Ireland. Tim, the innkeeper, was extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Our group had a very early start one morning (4:30 A.M.) and Tim was kind enough to have a continental breakfast sent to our room.... more

We will NEVER stay at this property again! We were in Dundalk for a 10 day visit with friends. The first room (yes, we were in more than one) was on the main floor...right next to the registration desk....NOISY, COLD (NO HEAT, THEY REFUSED TO CRANK IT UP), AND EVERYONE COULD HEAR US USING OUR FACILITIES! We asked for a... more

I was very dissappointed and totally refute the derogatory coments in this review. The reviewer said that we refused to "crank up the heat"; this is totally untrue as the heat in all bedrooms is on a 'Peglar' valve system which can easily be controlled by occupants. No request was made to adjust heat and no complaint was made to...

The Glen Gat is an absolutely marvellous place to stay in Dundalk. Fantastic value for money. Spotless rooms. TV works (and with all the fantastic pubs in Dundalk, WHY in the name of all that is good and decent would you even be in your room watching it?). They'll give you brekkie whether or not you want it, and they're... more

I was reffered to this B&B by colleagues who work in the town. I later found out that they only knew of it from passing, thats why the recommended it to me. It is central and that was their main reason for choosing it for me. I will say that it was a terrible choice. It is in a nice... more
