Stayed one night at Ashmore House with my partner. I loved the house - the high ceilings, wide staircase, spacious dining and lounge areas. I found Ireland expensive overall - the accommodation, eating out etc. Ashmore House charged approximately 35.00 Euros per person for a double room with ensuite - and although this isn't cheap - it's what everyone else... more

Our stay at Ashmore house is always fantastic .Laura and Brendan always give us a big welcome and make us feel like part of the family. Cashel is my Familys home town and is a fantstic place to visit with many things to see and do. I would always recommend Ashmore house as the place to stay when visiting cashel... more

this was one of our favorite B&B's during our 10 day trip to Ireland with our 3 children (early 20's). Owners are warm and welcoming. they are a wealth of information. Ashmore is an old home and we loved the history and charm of it. Rooms are very comfortable, particularly the beds! We had our own bathrooms which was important... more

We were on a little road trip to Kerry and decided to stop on the way and went a bit off route into Cashel. As we had stayed in Ashmore House before we decided to call the hosts Wally & Brendan to see if they might have a room. As luck would have it they had just had a cancellation... more

Just back from a family wedding in Cashel and stayed for the 3rd time at Ashmore house. Laura and Brendan are great hosts and they go the extra mile for their guests. Nothing is a problem for them, we got directions printed off and they booked a local restaurant for us as well. The location is excellent, right in the... more

We stayed for two nights on our way from Dublin to the west coast. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, with good air circulation. We had two rooms; one had an enormous bathroom, while the other had a more normally sized bath for a European hotel. Rates include the traditional Irish breakfast -- eggs, sausage, bacon, brown bread, toast, tea... more

Well we returned yet again to Ashmore House in Cashel this past weekend and stayed with Mr. & Mrs. Ryan. This place and its hospitality never ceases to impress. The beautiful house, bright airy rooms and soft fluffy towels.......home was never this good!! Brendan and Laura yet again welcomed us warmly and helped in any way they could. The breakfast... more

We arrived in Cashel early in the afternoon and started looking for a b and b close to or in town. We were staying in Ireland for the first time and using town and country bed and breakfast vouchers. We decided to check out Ashmore House due to its location off the main street in Cashel. We were greeted graciously... more

Management response from

It is indeed tragic that apparent sour grapes would result in such a review of our property. These holiday makers were travelling on pre-paid vouchers and these vouchers cover double/twin rooms. The fact that we only had one family room left was indeed testament that our rooms are of high standard and the service the same. Our house is "Georgian"...

I think the other reviewers capture things pretty well and things haven't changed. Although our room was one of the smaller ones we stayed during our whirlwind tour of Ireland (especially the bathroom), and the furnishings might be getting a little tired, the hosts are friendly and amazing. They put up with our later arrival, guided us to an excellent... more

Laura and Brendan were the perfect hosts, genuinely friendly, witty and helpful. I was in Cashel to attend a wedding, along with my sister, who has also left a review, and her fiance. I stay at a lot of B&Bs and Ashmore House stands out. We were pushed for time and somewhat flustered but, with Laura, we were in good... more
