"The Royal Hotel - a 3 Star Hotel in the heart of the bustling seaside resort of Bray". Part of this statement is true...it is in Bray. After that however, I would have to disagree. Firstly, the hotel itself is fine. Good quality, if small, rooms. Extremely basic but they do the job. Bed was nice, comfortable and clean. The... more

Our first experience of the hotel was poor because as we got out of the car were told we had to pay for parking up front. Thought I must be in the wrong carpark but was told no you have to pay. Next we went inside to check in, our impression of the hotel was one of ammused disbelief as... more

I have stayed at the Royal in Bray several times over the past few years and have always found it an adequate hotel. However this time I took my wife and 19 month toddler and found the experience totally disheartening! The room we were allocated was an older room on the second floor and thoroughly in need of modernisation- my... more

The seaside town of Bray is fine for a short stay in the Dublin area, and the Royal Hotel appeared to have suitable accommodations. My wife and I could easily walk to the commuter rail link from the hotel, and there was enough local shopping and banking for everyday needs. Unfortunately, in an otherwise excellent string of lodging choices for... more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel on the night of Saturday, December 1, 2007 for one night. We did not make a reservation but stopped there on the off-chance that we could get a room for the night as we had not booked a hotel for that night on our three day stop over in Ireland on the... more

This was our second Christmas weekend to stay here. The lobby of the hotel has lots of character and is spacious. There is a fine bar and dining/breakfast room. The bar has been changed around and it seems to work fine. The hotel has a lift and all areas need your room card in order to gain access. Our dinner... more

Only back last weekend from a family trip to The Royal Hotel and I have to say it was excellent. We went as a family of mothers and daughters for a bargain price of 109 euros each for 2 nights BB&1Dinner. I was a bit dubious after reading some of the comments as to what we were in for, but... more
