Room was ok, but as with the rest of the hotel, needs investment, and looks like it hasn't had any for many years. No real stinkers, and the staff were friendly, but the hotel overall feels like it was probably lovely 20 years ago..

Just came back from a weekend in Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel with Family. Location is fantastic. 20 minutes outside of Dublin (by DART). Victoria Park behind the hotel 5 min. walk. Fantastic view over the Dublin Bay. Friendly employees. The shuttle bus leaves every hour from/to Airport Dublin. The Bar is nice, as well as the inhouse Restaurant Dungeon Grill. We... More

I stayed here for 4 nights for my birthday last weekend. Friendly staff, amazing views, great pool, old style charm and a quick walk into Dalkey village. We were given a room on the 5th floor with views from the balcony over all of Dublin city and the bay. The room was clean and had everything we could possibly want.

Our first castle stay was not impressive. This is a tourist friendly hotel, but not in the best way. The room needed to be rehabbed. The mattress was old and lumpy, and the skirting around the canopy had fallen loose. The service at the bar was below average, and we were sitting at the bar! I would not recommend this... More

We stayed here as this seemed to be the best option in the area. Is has many plus points such as a 15 minute walk into Dalkey, and the hills behind. However, in many ways it was like going back in time to the days of how hotels used to be. An interesting experience, but a refreshing change from the... More

Yes they call this a castle...not exactly what you expect, but wonderful time exploring this huge property. If you are able ask for room with balcony, if you only have 2 people! If you have a family, go for room 425 as it has a great view with two beds that are large. Make a note that beds are very... More

Booked in as part of a conference in the hotel, first problem was we couldn't check in until 3, not much good to us as the conference started at 1. Not just me quiet a number of guests were waiting to check in with bags all over reception. problem 2 was we ordered a snack (soup and a sandwich) to... More

Stayed here last weekend with a group of friends. 5 of us checked in together, 1 double room, 1 twin room and a single. What a difference in the rooms. The single room on the 1st floor looked like a little girls room, small and flowery but 'cute' if you like that kind of thing. The double room on the... More

Dear TravellingAnnie007 I am very sorry to read that the room you were allocated was not one of our refurbished rooms, we have an ongoing refurbishment programme happening in the hotel at the moment and while we have already completed over 80% of our rooms there are still some rooms that will be addressing over the coming months. I am... More

Stayed for two night in late April 2013. We were very disappointed with this Hotel. The rooms were old and worn and so were the bathrooms. Breakfast was very average and so was the dinner. This is a hotel that need huge renovations and also the colour in the outside needs to be changed from its current reddish purple to... More

Carpet was pretty threadbare and walls were cracked. Bed was big and comfortable but after the plane flight I think I could have slept anywhere. Very close to big park with obelisk that had amazing views. Food at hotel was very good and service from staff was excellent. Hotel could just stand some updates.

Dear Matt Gorman Thank you for your comments, we are indeed very fortunate with our location just beside Killiney Hill overlooking Dublin Bay. I am glad to read you enjoyed our service and food while staying with us. I look forward to welcoming you back to the Castle on another occasion Kind regards Nicky Logue Director/General Manager More
