We arrived on a friday evening, checking in was quick and easy, even though there was no-one on the reception and we had to go get the barman to check us in. The room we had was clean and spacious, with a lovely big comfortable bed. Unfortunately the tv only had 2 stations, RTE 1 and 2. The bathroom was... more

We stayed in the Burren Coast hotel for two nights in mid September. Every where was very quiet but this suited us as we both wanted a relaxing weekend. We had an evening meal included in our weekend deal. Menu in main restaurant was very limited with only three choices on each course! Rooms were fine basic and they could... more

My wife and I almost didn't stay here 'cos of some previous reviewers' negative comments.....be warned, the only logical explanation is that they must want to keep this place as a secret for themselves! The location, the comfort of our room, the stunning views, the food, the friendliness & helpfulness of staff, the exceptional value and the even more incredible... more

Nice enough decor. Service at reception was ok. Bar and restaurant service was excellent. We got the 2nights with breakfast and 1 dinner deal. Breakfast was pretty decent...a buffet of cereal, juice, fruit and yogurt, and then served full irish breakfast with toast and tea or coffee. The dinner wasn't great though. As expected though from other reviews. There was... more

Stayed here in July for two nights. Really nice hotel in a beautiful location. The rooms are modern and fresh and the bar is lovely. There is a really nice terrace where you can sit and look across Galway Bay. We had dinner in the bar one night which was lovely. The hotel also has a spa. Overall we had... more

Dossing in front of my PC & came accross the reviews of the place I stayed in last Sunday night. Something has clearly changed for the better as I loved it! & I'm hard work. I work in the hotel 'game' so I'd notice more than most! My Mom is in a West Cork walking club called 'The Ramblers' &... more

Having spent a week at the Galway racing festival we thought we'd retire to the tranquil and stupifyingly beatiful Burren in County Clare to mend body and soul after a hell raising week in Galway City. Ballyvaughan is Ireland's jewel in the crown when it comes to scenery, Irish culture and the craic(fun). We checked into the burren coast hotel... more

Hotel is in nice quiet location, very pretty area. Hotel itself was ok. The rooms must be newly decorated and very stylish. However, the beds seemed to be extremely uncomfortable. I guess they are cheap mastresses. Skip the hotel restaurant as the food was awful and a waste of money. There was no one at reception when we checked in,... more

Just recently enjoyed a three night stay in the Burren Coast Hotel. The hotel has a beautiful setting looking directly accross Galway bay. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and the room was very large. The hotel is exceptionally clean and well maintained. We ate dinner in the hotel on two of the nights and while the food was lovely... more

Stayed here for one night in June. Hotel is nicely decorated and clean. The place seemed under-staffed and the reception was almost always deserted. However, the staff we did meet were very friendly and helpful. There wasn't much of an atmosphere around the hotel but this didn't matter as it is located very close to the village so it was... more
