Returning to the MacNean Bistro to celebrate my birthday with friends, dragging them all the way from Copenhagan and Lausanne for the experience of eating in Neven's wonderful restaurant. None of us were dissapointed. We chose from the dinner menu at 70 euro each, a complete steal for the quality of the food. Amuse Buche. starters, pre-main, main course and... more

Whilst visiting friends in Northern Ireland we were very lucky and managed to secure a 6pm table the day before. After a day walking around the Fermanagh Lakes we had no expectations of this restaurant. It is located someway off the beaten track but boy is it worth the detour once you get there ! Quite simply the best restaurant... more

We had a perfect Saturday evening in MacNean's bistro. The food was incredible. Each course beautifully presented. The flavour combinations subtle, complex, accomplished. The dining room welcoming, the staff friendly and knowledgeable. The expectations high, but Neven and his team more then delivered. Personal thanks to Neven for taking time to welcome all at our table. He spoke with enthusiasm... more

The hotel is small and I thought it was quite nice, but this place and my trip was all about the food in the restaurant. Each and every course was simply spot on - we had to sample each others too. The restaurant is nice and staff are ok, but none of that matters as the food is sublime. I... more

It is not an easy place to fine. Lies between the North and South of Ireland. I had some Australian Producers on a visit to Ireland and I took them up there. The rooms were full, but there was a table available. So we booked into a little delightful hotel The Custom House for a very reasonable tariff and you... more

Everything is right about MacNean House. The food is Michelin Star standard, the service is professional but courteous and get this, the staff give a damn about what they're doing. I know, it will never catch on. The decor is unexpectedly well done, simple yet extremely comfortable. At 70 euro, the set dinner menu isn't exactly cheap, but we spent... more

This really is an experience. We had a wonderful night's stay here and, in comparison to so many places, it was really good value. The accommodation is standard enough but we were there for the food! While 70 Euro for dinner (or 85 for the "prestige" option) may sound a bit pricey to begin with, you dont feel that way... more

We (party of 5 including 1 vegetarian!) stayed here last night, and had dinner and breakfast. All of us agreed that the meals, accomodation (though rooms are on the small side) and staff were all superb. This is great value for such a high standard all round. Blacklion itself is a small village but has a couple of nice pubs,... more

A beautiful meal the night before. Comfortable accomodation - although nothing spectacular but without question the best breakfast I have ever tasted! The porridge with cream and honey was like nectar. Well worth the 35 Euro price for the breakfast alone! Highly recommended. more
