Fred and Herta Rigney, owners of this lovely b&b in a beautifully restored Georgian home within walking distance of the village of Youghal, personify Irish hospitality. When we got lost enroute, Fred came to get us. He helped me track down an Irish friend I couldn't locate. He drove us to a performance rather than have us get embroiled in traffic. And when we were enjoying wine in water glasses in the georgous garden, Fred wouldn't hear of it - he ran to get his wine glasses. Herta is a marvelous cook; breakfasts were of the freshest ingredients and varied daily. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were unforgettable! They have created magic and whimsey at Glenally House, combining antiques with modern touches, fresh flowers, and an eclectic art collection. The new bathrooms are spacious and done in excellent taste. We happened at this jewel by accident - they were recommended by a Youghal hotel that was fully booked.
