My parents, my husband and I were all excited to stay at Annestown House. Based on a review in Fodor's it sounded wonderful. After a 5 hour drive to get to the property, we were greeted very warmly by the owners. Unfortunately we were told on arrival that there would be no dinner served that evening and we'd have to go into town to eat. We were the only 4 people staying at the property, by the way. And we had a horrible meal at the restaurant recommended by the owners--rude service and awful food!
The rooms were quaint but the mustiness and the dust was very aggravating to my asthma. The couches and carpeting in the TV room were worn through. We felt as if we sat on it we'd get lost in a cloud of dust.
The beds were comfortable, but we only had a fitted sheet and a satin comforter on the bed. I was not the only one to wonder if the comforters had been washed between patrons. I just like having a sheet between me and any bedspread or comforter--I know...
