We stayed there only for 1 night, before the flight back home to US. For just the 2 of us - we had a huge room (1 king size bed and 2 queens) which Mary (our gracious host) thought would come in handy for packing. We did not have enough time to enjoy the Bunratty Lodge – we had an... more

We stayed September 14, 2007. Mary Browne was very friendly and helpful. She was able to tell us what time we needed to leave for the airport. She even prepared breakfast a little early so we could eat. The traditional Irish breakfast was very good. The jam was wonderful - a mixture of fruits. We had the family room and... more

When I found out a few days before departure for Ireland that there was a mix-up in the reservations for 4 people at another B&B in the area, I began a search on the internet and Mary Browne was one of the first to respond and was the most helpful. Since all four of us ladies are 65-70 and in... more

We booked our holiday to rid ourselves of cars, but were shocked but accepted a long walk from Bunratty to the Lodge. Mary, if you read this, let people know the true extent of the Low Road. (I'm hoping more people choose to walk rather than travel by car to save carbon emissions) However, it did put us in the... more

Arrived late at night, it was no problem to Mary. Lovely twin ensuite room with great shower . Only stayed 1 night but really enjoyed it. Mary was lovely and we had a gorgeous full irish breakfast. The place was immaculately clean and well decorated. more

Let me start with the positives -- Mary was very nice and the room we had was great. We had the family room which had three beds and two separate bathrooms which was great. The negatives -- it's about as far from Bunratty Castle as you can get while still being in Bunratty. However, it was on the road to... more

Management response from

We don't have screens in Ireland. When lights are left on with windows open flies will, no doubt, come in (in any part of Ireland!) However, where common sense prevails there isn't a problem.

Ms. Mary Browne is a wonderful hostess and could not make you feel more welcome. From the time that I emailed her until the time that we departed she was as someone else has said just a Sweetheart! We booked her family room for our last night in Bunratty before our departure the next morning. We decided to make the... more

My family (myself, husband, & 2 teenage kids) stayed at Mary's Bunratty Lodge. Her B&B is wonderful and she is the most pleasant hostess you can find! We stayed 2 nights in the family room which was clean and fresh looking and had 2 separate showers (always a plus). Other than my snoring husband, the room was quiet. There's ample... more

I have high praise for Mary Brown for going above and beyond to solve our problems on arrival in Ireland. My mistake was thinking I could find a B&B anywhere with no reservations. We stopped our van at Bunratty Lodge after dark. Now I know that is too late. Mary welcomed me into her front hall and asked me what... more

We stayed here our last night in Ireland based on Tripadvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed in the least. Mary was an excellent hostess, and made reservations for us for the Traditional Irish night. Rooms are all on the first floor, which is nice for older guests and those just tired of lugging luggage upstairs. The breakfast was superb,... more
