Very nice B&B. Beds were about the same as the rest as the B&B's we stayed in (too hard for me, but fine for everybody else). Shower had great water pressure and temperature. Hostess was kind enough to order pizza for us for dinner. They do have wireless internet and a computer guests can use (old, slow, and outdated, but... more

My husband and I just got back from a 10 day trip to Ireland where we drove around the Southern half and stayed at 4 different B&B's. This one was by far our favorite. Deirdre was the most welcoming hostess and had the most adorable children who welcomed us as well. The house is bright and warm, and only a... more

The Avarest is a wonderful B&B. The bedrooms are spacious and extremely clean and the breakfasts are quality. Deirdre and her family are wonderful and will make you feel right at home. Having traveled to Ireland many times I enjoy staying at local B&B's and I highly recommend the Avarest. The location is perfect: 10 minute drive to/from Shannon Airport... more

We stayed in Bunratty for one day, and we hopped off the bus only to discover that the B&B was nowhere near walking distance. Fortunately for us, the owner actually came and picked us up, and later drove us to the folk park and castle! He was very helpful and accommodating, even though we had to leave before breakfast in... more

I titled this "Another Wonderful Visit" because that is exactly what it was! We stayed at Avarest for the THIRD time in five years on October 10, 2009. We have been there in the past with our 2 adult children and this year we were accompaned by my sister and her husband. We have always been made to feel very... more

After 18 days in Ireland, this is THE friendliest, cleanest B & B around. The location is rural but within a couple of minutes of the freeway (dual carriageway) and less than 10 minutes from the Shannon Airport. The entire Western and Southern part of Ireland is within a quick drive. The rooms are large, modern and very clean. You... more

Avarest is clean, bright, warm and modern. Handicapped facilities ae available. We stayed there for our last night before flying home. We stayed up late using Avarest's wireless internet and Deirdre kept us company. She made us feel like friends not just guests. We thought my father lost his money pouch in the airport on the way home and he... more

Our group of 7 was greeting warmly by Deirdre and her lovely family. Her children were absolutely adorable and it was a momentous occasion as one of her twin sons had just lost a tooth and was eagerly awaiting the tooth fairy. We were homesick after 10 days of traveling and was nice to feel the warmth of this family.... more

So happy with our recent stay at Avarest, we stayed last year and knew we would be back. Deirdre keeps a spotlessly clean home, the beds are comfortable, the shower superb and the conversation warm and inclusive. The children are a delight, so quietly well-mannered, and friendly. It made us feel so good when one of the twins remarked, "I... more

We only had one night to spend at the Avarest, as we were on our way out of Shannon Airport but we were warmly welcomed by Deirdre as if we were old friends. We wanted to be close to the airport as well as see the Bunratty Castle before leaving Ireland and found the location to be great. The house... more
