Shannonside B&B: Convenient--to Shannon airport. Unique in that it features the incomparable Mary Tobin (Mary and Neal Tobin-proprietors) who will tell you, in a charming non-stop brogue-all about herself and her family. Neal will shepherd you into town, for a very reasonable fee, for dinner at the Weavers' Inn, a first-rate eating establishment. We stayed the first night as a couple, returned with our small group, and Mary uncomplainingly fixed us all (7) a cold breakfast with hot coffee and tea at 6 AM before our return flights.

A great introduction to Ireland if you've never been there-some of the friendliest folks around, both the Tobins and the Irish in general. more
