We stayed at Dromoland Castle in September 2008. Our friends got married there. The whole place is really beautiful, well presented, staff friendly, rooms comfortable, food fantastic (greak breakfast). Couldn't fault it and would happily stay there again...... more

We stayed at Dromoland Castle for one night in the middle of our 7 night self-drive tour of Ireland and it was wonderful. We arrived early afternoon and had a smooth check in. The room wasn't exactly what we imagined (not as "medieval" or old fashioned) but it was lovely. The room and ensuite were huge with lovely facilties and... more

What a fabulous stay we had at Dromoland Castle. My husband had business the first week we were in Ireland, and when he completed his work we stayed on a few extra nights for a pleasure trip. I knew this was a wonderful hotel from the website and all the comments here on trip advisor, plus the Ireland guidebooks I... more

Positives: 1. Gorgeous location and grounds. Immaculate property, beautiful gardens, lovingly cared for. 2. We were upgraded to a deluxe suite upon arrival, without our requesting it. 3. High standards of service were evident everywhere, and with every staff member. Staff were very helpful and pleasant without being stuffy. 4. Food, from breakfast to casual dining to formal dining was... more

A really disapointing stay. The hotel is geared up for Americans on the Heritage trail. It's a disney version of Ireland. The castle itself was re-built by the Victorians and has been added to/exploited by the addtion of a golf course and leisure building. That said, the food was amazing and the wine list more than comprehensive. If you can... more

The Dromoland Castle was the last place we stayed on our trip to Ireland and it was a great way to end the vacation. The grounds are beautiful. We didn't golf - I'm sure the course is amazing - I recommend walking the paths and taking advantage of the outdoor activities on site. The service in the bar and restaurant... more
