Lovely setting for this large house B & B and restaurant. Breakfast was fabulous. Unfortunately the triple room was rather small and we needed to squeeze a second child on the floor. The bed covering was only a heavy duvet, whose cover smelled of B.O.,with no sheet, so it was too warm without A/C or fan. Our charge per night,... more

Nice quiet spot, very friendly. Great vege meal (and it wasn't pasta, risotto or stir-fried vegetables!). Also good value. Dunfanaghy nice also, lovely clean quiet beach. Good walks and drives nearby. Someone needs to start renting bikes up there though. more

Staying here is still a lovely experience, but I noticed a slight slippage in the restaurant standards. Perhaps it was just an "off" night but the food was not as good as I remembered it. The dish was very ordinary, lacking that wow factor I associated with the Mill. The staff were all re-costumed in a kind of black, continental,... more

This is an amazing place to stay and an even more amazing place to eat. When we arrived, we were offered tea and homemade biscuits-delicious ! The house itself is beautifully placed next to a lovely lake and the garden is gorgeous. Each room is individually decorated, not like a hotel room, but like a bedroom in a tastefully decorated... more

In a pretty and peaceful location overlooking a lake, on the outskirts of the village. We stayed 2 nights. Our room, although not huge, was very comfortable and really nicely decorated, and had views of the lake. Susan and her staff are welcoming and helpful, and the food is lovely - a good choice of beautifully cooked breakfast options, and... more

A wonderful place to stay in a glorious setting with excellent food the main attraction. However, not a place for the early riser. You can't have a shower until about 7 am and breakfast, which was superb, is only served from 9 - 9:30. more

My fiance and I decided to book a room at The Mill after reading the wonderful comments on this site and indeed in The Sunday Times Travel Section. We stayed on a Saturday night and booked a table at the restaurant. The Mill is situated at the shores of a lovely lake so the setting is beautiful. We were shown... more

I took my partner here as a special get-away from london. The place had been recommended by a family member, so I knew it must be good. When we arrived, the weather in Donegal was suitably romantic; gale force winds, hailstones, heavy rain, severe weather conditions.... but somehow, the setting of the mill restaurant managed to wipe all our city... more

Chose to stay at The Mill on recommendation. We were not dissappointed. Very friendly greeting on arrival, with tea offered and taken in the conservatory. The room was very comfortable, better than some 4 star hotels we've stayed in. The showers are great. The restaurant food was very good and for the price, excellent value. Indeed the cost of the... more

This place is a gem! The setting is beautiful, right on the shore of "new lake," where a number of swans make their home. Our corner room was large and elegantly furnished, with beautiful views of the lake. We had dinner there two nights, and were very happy with our food on both occassions (fresh and expertly prepared, but also... more
