This is the perfect hideaway (for a few days). Our 'seasoned' driver hadn't been to it before, and was also very impressed. It says a lot about the culture of the hotel that the driver himself was treated with the same respect and courtesy that we received. We are a family with two early teenage boys - even they recognised... More

We were advised not to stay in Nuwara Eliya during the New Year Bank holiday and booking at short notice both places we were recommended in Ella were full . With some further research I found Koslanda on trip advisor. It was not known to our Sri Lankan agent or our driver who met us at Haputale station in the middle... More

The "hidden gem" title is really apt. This place is not so easy to get to and will add about 30 minutes to your travel time to any of the surrounding towns or attractions, but we found it was well worth it. We really felt like royalty or celebrities on private resort. We arrived quite late and were treated to... More

This is a gem of a place, tucked away in huge grounds. With only five rooms, you feel as if you are staying at someone's country house, not a hotel. The rooms are huge and extremely tastefully appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable and hard to get out of - linens and towels were high quality and the bathroom luxurious.... More

We arrived late after a long train journey in the dark and thought our room amazing. Dinner was excellent and we awoke in the morning to explore our fabulous surroundings after the best night's sleep we had in SL. This tiny boutique hotel (it only has 3 villas and 2 other rooms) is simply stunning. Quiet beyond compare with a... More

A unique chance to experience peace in natural surroundings without compromising on luxury and comfort. We were treated like royalty during our weekend stay in a traditional sri lankan environment..You are able to walk to a private waterfall to swim, watch monkeys and birds at close quarters and enjoy a swim in the gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the forest and... This hotel was the highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka! We stayed there 'because' the other hotels in Ella were fully booked. If we have the chance to go back in Sri Lanka one day, this will be my first hotel to book right after my air tickets! I don't want to tell you too much about this hotel... More

Not knowing what to expect, we were completely blown away. On arrival, we were treated to fresh watermelon juice, hot tea and a free upgrade to the luxury villa which had an individual courtyard and lounge area. This is not your typical hotel - it is very secluded and the perfect retreat. The decor and architecture is something special. The... More
