We (46 students of a Bavarian highschool & 2 teachers) spent 4 nights in Paddy's Hostel in September and were supported by Paddy, Josephine and David all the time; they provided fish and good ideas for entertainment and were extremely understanding. We highly recommend this hostel! Barbara Brock-Spegele 84082 Laberweinting Germany more

This is a great little place to stay, especially if you're traveling solo as it has a friendly, communal feel & everyone's super-friendly, from David (love those breakfast scones!) the manager to everyone I met staying there. It's just a short walk to the sea & ferries to the lovely, quiet Aran Islands, a great location for the Cliffs of... more

Was in Doolin last month for a couple of days surfing had a great time. Stayed at Paddys Doolin Hostel in a private room with my girlfriend. Room was nice, clean, good bed and had its own bathroom with a good hot shower. Location is good as its within walking distance (5 to 10 minutes) of all 3 pubs which... more

I stayed here 10 years ago and couldn't get over the fact that nothing had changed with the place, except for the addition for rooms across the street in another buidling. The place doesn't seem to have been painted in all that time and the furniture in the lounge is so old. I know it's a hostel but come on... more

If you have never stayed in a "hostel" before you may want to accustomize yourself to the experience beforehand. Hostels are absolute bare basic budget accomodations. You pay per bed and basiciall that is all you get. The rooms are almost prison sparse, dated and basic. No towels are supplied and there are no services other than communal services. Hostels... more

A nice place to stay when in Doolin. It's a basic but clean hostel with the warmest welcome I've ever had. No breakfast, but they provide you a huge kitchen. They even sell some cheap stuff for you to cook in those cases when you arrive late and nothing's open anymore (which was my case). The location is perfect, just... more

The best part of Doolin Hostel was Josephine, who's helpfulness was unparalleled! We had a group of 21 faculty and students, and she arranged dining and transportation for the whole group. The Hostel itself is clean and accommodating with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and bright lounge area on the first floor. Each room has a skylight window with views of... more

I was studying abroad in Ireland and for our first weekend away from Galway where our apartment was we decided to head to Bunratty folk park in Shannon, we had planned on staying in a hostel near there but it turned out to be closed for renovations. At a loss for anything else to do we headed for Doolin via... more

Paddy's hostel in Doolin is pretty basic but central to everything in this tiny Irish town famous for it's traditional music. David, the Czech night manager was very friendly and easy going. Try the Doolin Cafe for an excellent gourmet meal and then head to Whelans pub for some of the "craic" more

Saw some good reviews so rang up to try and book for a group (all male, looking for a different place for a bit of craic for the weekend, we usually stay in 4* hotels). After being interrogated about whether it was a 'stag weekend', and assuring her it wasn't, was told that she would not take the booking as... more

Management response from

We at Paddy’s Doolin Hostel have long experience dealing with International and Irish groups. Unfortunately it is becoming extremely difficult to handle certain types of groups – stag/hen and football groups in particular. It is the policy of the hostel not to take these groups as it has been our experience when we did take them many were uncontrollable and...
