I stayed at the hostel in January 2007, probably not the best period to go to this hostel: we read there was food for breakfast included in some other reviews but when we stayed there was nothing and the kitchen was not on the top concerning cleanliness. We just stayed at the self-catering hostel and had the best experience in Ireland. The owners, Mattie and Carmen, are very hospitable and will go out of their way to give lifts to the small town, to the Cliffs of Moher, or even to surrounding Burren area for day exploring. The Rainbow Hostel is located in the small picturesque town of Doolin Village. We stayed here in winter, so the town was really quiet. The hostel is located 8klm south of the Cliffs of Mohair, so is excellent for sightseeing in this area. The hostel is also part bed and breakfast and we stayed in the newly built section.
