This is my first review but I feel compelled to write it as I have had such a lovely time. Set in beautiful surroundings Lord Haldon Hotel is a real treat . Not only does it offer a relaxing friendly atmosphere and an excellent restaurant (Nicola is a warm outgoing person who moves heaven and earth to make your night... More

It's the second time we have stayed here, and the the Hotel and rooms are great. The service in the restaurant is not. It seems they do not change the menu, so you have the same choice all week. One night we had to wait one and a half hours to be served with our meal. On our last day... More

My wife and I chose this special package as part of our celebrations for our Golden Wedding Anniversary. On arrival at the Hotel, set in magnificent Devon countryside, we were shown to the Bridal suite - a beautiful large room with a superb en suite bathroom and wonderful views from the windows - where a bottle of sparkling wine and... I booked the romantic night for my husband's birthday surprise trip to Exeter. After taking a somewhat scenic route, which was beautiful, we found the hotel. It took our breath away. We love historic buildings. Booking it was easy. With the romantic booking we had chilled sparkling wine and choccies in the room. The bed looked like another room -... More

Travelling along narrow lanes we eventually arrived at this beautiful country house hotel. The setting was fantastic and the hotel very spacious. The only disappointment was the breakfast. Poorly laid tables, waiting staff not very informative, breakfast selection very spartan and cooked breakfast poorly presented; thick bacon rashers folded over and as tough as old boots. What a shame after... More

We were back with the family due to a bereavement. All my family stayed and it's like putting on an old pair of slippers. Just feels so at home. Staff are great, hotel is located in a great quiet location and we love it here. Might be worth talking to the staff before you try and find the hotel though... More

We attended a wedding and reception here, and stayed overnight. The staff were courteous, helpful and efficient, the food good, and all appeared to go according to plan. Our room was spacious and clean, and provided a view of the rolling Devon countryside. To be recommended. More

It was an OK hotel, bit run down and needing a revamp. Food was again OK but nothing special. There is nothing around this hotel so if you want to nip to a shop you are driving! I don't think I would stay here again, and I wouldn't reccomend it. More

We did not arrive at the hotel until 1 o'clock in the morning. The lady on reception was the most welcome lady ever. She even telephoned us on the way there to see if we needed any help finding the hotel. The rooms had so much character and charm and were immaculate. The style of the hotel is totally in... More
