We arrived to a most gracious welcome from Bob and Christina - thank you, thank you! We were immediately given tea and homemade chocolate brioche and English tea by the fireside. We opted for dinner and it was a world class eating experience. My husband's GF needs were catered to, so that was very helpful and still delicious. We had... More

Thank you for your kind words, it was a real pleasure to welcome you to Lanercost and cooking gluten free meals is no problem especially as you had kindly mentioned it in advance. We enjoy the buzz of social dining and are aware of the occasional pitfall that may arise. We will make a more positive effort to avert this... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Lanercost B&B for 2 nights in mid-February for a stop off on the way from Glasgow to the south. We were warmly welcomed by the owners with a drink in the beautiful lounge, with its roaring log fire. Having arrived late afternoon we decided to have dinner at the B&B and we were very... More

... Except we didn't have to lift a finger during our two-night stay! Bob and Christina who run Lanercost B&B are terrific hosts. Welcoming and kind, they put even shy guests (like my boyfriend) at ease with their hospitality and hosting skills. Plus Christina is an awesome cook who serves the best Victoria sponge I've ever tasted to welcome us... More

WOW, thank you. It is easy to host delightful people and I must say life at Lanercost is a pleasure. Bob and I are happy with early mornings especially in the sunshine. And Liverpool won so the early start was well worth while. Thank you for the most amazing review, Bob and I look forward to welcoming you back, Mutley... More

We had a lovely overnight stay - a quick night away after a long week. We chose Lanercost because it was very nice and luxurious looking, but also accepted dogs. It defiantly lived up to what we expected. We had a roaring fire and a VERY good breakfast, and also a wonderful 3 course meal in the evening, made vegan... More

Hi Anna and Joey, It was a pleasure to welcome you both and your dogs. We are delighted that you liked your room, during November/December we removed the airing cupboard and the noisy pump. We replaced this with a sealed pressure system which is both silent and downstairs. We also added a fitted wardrobe thus giving a room that is... More

This is a lovely welcoming bed and breakfast where it is cosy and you are made to feel at home. The Lanercost B&B is really well placed by the Lanercost priory not too far from Harian's wall either. Warmly welcomed on a wet day and made to feel at home. Immediately offered a warming tea or coffee from our hosts.... More

Thank you for your super review, it is so easy to look after delightful guests and your comments are both kind and helpful. This morning we lit the fire in the dining room and it adds an extra something special. So when you return you can enjoy the sound, smell and warmth of a real log in both the sitting... More

We used Lanercost as a stopping off point on our way north from Devon this year. I am most certainly glad I did too; this is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast, the absolute hight of luxury, somewhat akin to a boutique hotel in fact. (Fired earth showers, freshly ground coffee beans in the room for coffee, need I go on?)... More

Hi, thank you for your stunning review; it was our pleasure to welcome you in to our home. The sound and smell of the log fire are so relaxing; you can see why it is often described as a living fire. The perfect way to relax is a cup of tea and chocolate cake, a pint of Brampton real ale... More

It started to rain the moment we walked in the door. It was of no importance as we had walked from Carlisle and were going no further until the next day - and there was a cosy log fire in the grate, tea and cake on the table. We had 2 lovely rooms with big, comfortable beds and hot showers... More

Hi, it was a pleasure to welcome you all to Lanercost and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. We are lucky to live in such a stunning spot and not the colours are begining to change, getting richer by the day. The evening light picks up the warmth in the stone of the Priory. Hadrian's Wall has been... More

Lovely B&B - we stayed one night with friends and were the only guests - it was wonderful! A large sitting room with log fire. Our bed was the biggest I've ever slept in! Good evening meal and a fantastic breakfast - what more could you want?

We arrived footsore and weary from walking Hadrian's Wall from Carlisle to be greeted by a friendly face and an instant offer of tea and cake... perfect. We stayed for one night while walking hadrians wall. The house was nice and the room was lovely, however, when we decided to eat out rather than in the house, we were interrogated to no end.
