From the moment we arrived to the hour we left, we felt very welcome here. Johnny & Sandra are really nice people, kind, warm, caring and good fun to talk with. The room was perfect, clean and comfortable. Nice touches like some decent English tea bags with a kettle and some biscuits, a TV and an on-suite bathroom. We got... More

This was my second one night stay on route up and down the country, the hosts are very friendly welcoming and helpful who offered me a glass of wine on my arrival. The whole place was spotlessly clean and I had an excellent breakfast which included a fresh fruit salad and a full cooked breakfast amongst other things. The room... More

Lovely cracking little place. Cannot fault it. I was on business and wanted a simple easy set up and that's what I got. Owner brought me up a glass of wine which after a long days work tasted like heaven! And also fresh milk for my tea. This is one of the best B&B's I've stayed in. It was spotless.... More

Second stay there for a few of us for one night end of November. As before, Sandra and John can not do enough for you. Very hospitable, friendly and welcome - stayed up late for us on more than one occasion when arriving. Rooms very clean with all the nice usual little touches. Breakfast is anything you want and plenty... More

We stayed in The Green B&B on the basis of the recommendations we read in Trip Advisor. Its five star rating is well and truly earned. This is a lovely house in easy reach from Carlisle in the quiet. friendly village of Cotehill. The owners, John and Sandra, are devoted to ensuring that their guests experience a warm welcome combined... More

After spending the week in the Scottish wilderness, with temperatures reaching -2, I was pretty beat and in need of some warmth, sleep and decent food, before embarking on the long journey back down south. What can I say, from start to finish, both Sandra & Johnny were the perfect hosts, welcoming and happy to be of assistance. I was... More

My Mum, Dad and I have just returned from a short weekend break in Cumbria. We stayed (along with my shaggy boarder collie x) with Sandra and Jonny. The rooms were exceptionally clean, tidy and beautifully decorated. Our every need was taken care of and Jonny's breakfast was supurb! A fantastic B&B and fantanstic welocming people who couldn't of done... More

We stayed for 2 nights at The Green B&B and were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived. The Green has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and the room we stayed in was spacious, very clean and stocked with everything you need. John and Sandra were really welcoming and offered us tea when we arrived. They... More

My wife and I with our daughter and husband, stayed here going up to Orkney and also on our return journey. Sandra and Johnny could not have done more to make our two nights there so very enjoyable. Their hospitality and friendliness was simply brilliant after a 4 hour trip North and a 10 hour trip returning South. And we... More

Cycled up on spec and was taken in. Room is quirky and traditional. Bed was great. Wet day so my damp clothes were taken away and washed and dried!!! I chatted to Johnny and Sandra and they offered me tea or a beer. Then gave me advice on food in the village. Welcome was amazing. These are the number 1... More
